Traffic came to a complete standstill on Interstate 20 in Jackson Tuesday afternoon as police worked to clean up two accidents. All three eastbound lanes of I-20 approaching the Valley Street overpass were blocked just after 3 p.m.
J.P.D. Commander Lee Vance says a gold Lexus and a Mercury Sable collided, sending the Lexus driver to the hospital. An 18 wheeler veered off the highway and down an embankment in an attempt to avoid the accident. The truck driver's son was injured and transported to the hospital.
