Sounds like the guy mainly trying to sell his book and provide fodder for folks like yourself to regurgitate.

I would argue that the anarchism tendencies and unwillingness to accept electoral decisions would more closely relate Booth and his companions to the current ANTIFA movement, as their motives of directing culture by selective violence are in the same lane as creating anarchy by eliminating a POTUS and part of his cabinet.

Many groups have rebellious and revolutionary ideals, that is actually what this country was built upon. How they work to accomplish their aims is the difference. Don't really recall any violent tendencies out of the tea party, but i guess snowflakes do tend to take challenges to their reasoning skills and belief systems as a personal attack.....

I agree, the biggest problem with that is the blind trust that many place in those that are deemed "educated".

Yesterday is a great example. 4 law school professors got up in front of the nation because they are "educated". However, anyone who watched with an unbiased mind should have quickly came to the conclusion that 3 of the 4 only provided their opinions through personal interpretations with no legal reasoning to support. They are all "educated" by any definition one may want to use, but i personally only find one to have acted with "intelligence". He basically said that a lot more information was needed to provide any legal opinion. The other three stated legal opinion based only on how they "felt" about a hypothetical situation created through a circumstantial set of facts.

Good point. I agree. Most of what we heard yesterday was opinion in the guise of Unbiased education. Poor choice of Law scholars.
Jonathan Turley got it right when he said that further investigation was needed.

I am looking forward to a trial in the Senate,....under Oath.......including the central figures in this case......Mr. Mulvaney, Mr. Perry, Mr. Pompeo,...Mr. Bolton,......and, of course....Mr. Giuliani.
And Mr. Trump himself,....if he has any testimony to exonerate his actions.

Those five people,....and Mr. Trump......were named several times,...under Oath and threat of Perjury,.....during the House investigation. The only thing they can do is to appear,....under Oath and threat of Perjury themselves,....and refute all the testimony given.

At that point,.....SOMEONE will go to jail,...for lying under Oath.

The Republicans have to get serious about this, too......The only reason to call the whistleblower to testify,....is to try and discredit the person themselves,.....and deflect away from Presidential impeachable offenses. What, and who the whistleblower is, or are.......really has no bearing on whether Mr. Trump committed those actions himself. He did them with,..or without,... a whistleblower......

And calling Rep. Schiff will backfire. He had a lapse in judgement about how he prefaced the language of the phone call,........But in the end,.....once again, Mr. Trump did what he did,.......regardless of whether Adam Schiff was in Congress,..or on Planet Mars......

If the Republicans wanted to do a separate trial with Rep. Schiff,....censuring him for not upholding the ...decorum of the House,.....Have at it,........it has nothing to do with the actions Mr. Trump already did,.......just a commentary, albeit scandalous,....probably due to outrage.

If Mr. McConnell has a "Slam-Bam-get'Em Outta Here" quickie show trial...........without calling any of those CENTRAL figures........then there is your evidence of the complete capitulation of the Republican Party,....and a coverup......

And the end of the Constitutional Rule of Law......You don't think that after a quickie Senate "trial".....Donald Trump will actually start believing what he said,........that he is "above the Law".....knowing that the entire Republican Party is genuflecting to him?

I disagree with your ultimate conclusion. A quick dismissal by the Senate could be appropriate if the House fails to provide a case against POTUS that has a solid evidentiary foundation.

The way it is set up is much like our justice system. The House fills the role of a grand jury or prosecutors office, basically establishing probablr cause for an indictment.

If a grand jury votes to not indict, case closed. If a weak indictment makes it into court, what happens. Many times it will get tossed under summary judgement. In this scenario, a quick vote by the "judge" in this case (senate body) would have the same effect and purpose as a summary judgment decree by any other judge in our justice system.

True.......but unlike a jurisprudence case......this impeachment inquiry has been performed in public. At this point, the public will expect the main actors who were involved......to explain themselves.

Anything else will be perceived as a......partisan coverup.....
After the Republicans,...and Mr. Trump......decrying the “one-sidedness” of the inquiry......the Senate trial will be their chance to present their testimony......under favorable conditions...

And....under Oath with the threat of Perjury.

If Mr. Trump thinks the witnesses lied about what he said.....and he can prove it......the Senate trial will be his opportunity to have some people....indicted for Perjury.

    Wouldn’t that be perfect revenge?

I dont imagine he will testify, in fact it would probably be foolish to do so. If they have no credible case why would you? He has the same righst about not being compelled to testify as any other American.

With the evidence they have, why let the partisan whining goad you into opening yourself up to scrutiny if you dont have to......through this whole deal, all that has resulted in any punishment has been BS process crimes, which seems to be their MO. I think they are counting on DJT's ego getting him on the stand where they can nip at his heels. I believe he will still jack with them quite a bit about the situation, put he would be smart not to give them a chance to grandstand for the cameras. I can only imagine the "Spartacus moments" that will be taking place as it is, little long if he were to appear for cross examination.

Yep. The lying media and the Democrat party has had that on full display for three years now, and they've picked the right targets. Your posts prove it.

But you supported Schiff's closed door hearings. Schiff will be explaining himself and his lies once this gets to the Senate.

SCOTUS Chief Justice, John Roberts, will be the one who oversees the Senate hearing.

    Why not?

Unless i am mistaken, Trump doesnt have to prove his innocence, the House has to PROVE his guilt. With the way approval rarings have swung in the last 4 weeks, just imagine how the electorate that arent radical hardliners will react to about 6 months of holier than thou, pompous, elitists telling them that they and their duly elected POTUS are simply impediments in the march towards a socialist utopia.....

Dimms know Trump will not be removed from office. They will try to tarnish the Presidency in the House and expect a quick dismissal in the Senate.McConnell should slow walk the process and rig it the way it has been rigged in the House.I would have them loonies begging to end this debacle..

How bout they bring Jordan over to act as counsel for the majority? Can you imagine the shock and awe from some of the "witnesses" after 45 straight minutes from him? Not that the Senate Judiciary doesnt have a few that i like to see question witnesses as well........Kennedy is pretty freaking awesome.
