Brown Transport -non
Jones Truck Lines-U
Century-O.K.-Union and Nonunion (casual)

St.Johnsbury-U (casual)
NW Transport-U(casual)
Carolina-U (casual)

I worked as a casual for Jones truck line U, Lewis truck line mostly non-u, Midwest motor express(closed in MN for 5 years then reopened all non union), gross common carrier U. That reflects my desire to work union and the fact that prior to deregulation most were union and competed with equal terms.

ABF and Carolina were separate companies during the strike in '94. The buy-out didn't happen until Sept. '95. Carolina was allowed to work for fear of them closing the doors. Those of us at ABF walked the picketline for the length of the strike and we never took concessions then nor after. We were asked to in the late 80's but voted it down. The company found another way to get themselves out of financial problems and look where they are today.

AND DONT FORGET....Carolina was covered in Freight and brought the other Teamsters that were on strike over to work their docks....AND...those Brothers & Sisters were bringing buckets of money, food and even walked the line with us....have you forgotten??.....KK:1036316054:

I have read where up to 3,000 trucking companies have filed bankruptcy or closed in 2008 alone. We have never seen times like these, good luck to us all. DS.
