This will not happen for a couple reasons..

Freight has to many tractors to get rid of and a lot of money vested as a full company model

Most of these “contractors” DO NOT have hazmat. Is it easy for almost anyone with a clean record to get it? Yes, but imagine having to tell EVERY contractor that they need hazmat endorsement.. plus 99% of these sandal drivers barley know English or common sense.. let alone pass a Haz test.

Freight will SELL if anything before becoming a contractor model

Mr RW, have to disagree. The model for Uncle Fred has always been contractors once he saw how it USED to be profitable. All the those FXF R tractors, the company will be glad to lease them or even sell them to you road drivers! And boy we'll pay you so much a mile you guys will be in tall cotton. Not saying it's going to happen anytime soon, but if you don't think this is what they really want, you haven't paid attention to lots of this outfits decisions. Pay by the mile, by the load, by the trip, this is what they want. To quote a great movie, they would rather eat their children than pay all of us by the hour, and they are pretty fond of their children!
