New Hampshire-Company 'devastated' by news of truck fire

LOWELL -- A New Hampshire pet store was scheduled to receive five puppies on Monday. They never arrived.

"It's a very, very sad tragedy," said Kim DuRoss, a spokesperson for New England Pet Center in Canton, which supplies puppies to retailers throughout New England.

A specialized tractor-trailer, carrying about 60 puppies, caught fire on an access road from Interstate 495 south to Route 3 north in Lowell. All 60 puppies perished in the fire.
