Recently we've gotten about 20-25 new KW T-680 trks in our Northern Ohio yard. R17xxx-R18xxx, these are dual purpose trucks road /city use...one problem several of our city drivers have discovered is a steering radius issue, it's terrible, you can't make usual right turns in the city. It's very aggravating. . Older t680's & t660's have a decent turning in city. Speaking with other carriers who have brand new 2015 T-680's & PETE 579'S the steering range needs to be opened up either at local FXF shop or at the dealer. Now the current shop MGR said he can't touch them because they are under warranty? I really would like to hear some feedback and if anyone else has brought this issue to ttheir attention

Just spent the last 2 weeks in one of the new T680's and didn't seem to have any issues with the turning radius. The only issue I had was the collision alarm going off with nothing anywhere near me with 1 of the 4 we just got in. Following distance would drop to 0.0 on the screen and the alarm would go off. If it wasn't for being automatics I might actually like them.

Seems to me, with the extensive specs these trucks are required to meet (per FXFE), the turning radius would be a spec item. If some trucks are slipping through with sub par specs, fleet maint at corporate should be able to get it corrected. Warranty issues seem a bit far fetched. Not impossible, but far fetched.

My new T680 doesn't have a great turn radius. It's not used in the city with it being on 2 linehaul bids though I could see it being a problem for the P&D guys.
