I know that NEW YEARS DAY we will be off but has anyone heard if we will be working NEW YEARS EVE? We ran about 5 years ago and it wasnt much fun with all the drunks on the highway!

Yup...heard it also that all runs will be running except layover runs! Its nice to know that the all mighty dollar is worth more to FedEx than a person's life!
My run on new years eve takes me to OCCURRENCE city, and by midnight, I wont even care!!!

I agree they can keep their 8 hrs pay. My New Years eve will be spent with family and friends.

Negative! We will not. We worked New Years Eve...what was it bout 10-12yrs ago and lost a ton of money that day. They say we spent more on operating cost than making revenue that day. Plus, it was very unsafe for the Road drivers that ran a P.M run.....This is what my Safety Rep told me awhile back. I was one of the ones that was out there trucking that N.Y.E night also.....I was paranoid as hell!....concerned about the drunk drivers,

I know out here in the Pac NW we have worked in the past because on one year one of the HUB drivers we run to brought some cookies and apple cider. The dock manager actually let us stop for 3 minutes and celebrate that night. Couldn't afford the time since it looked bad on his numbers!!! always the numbers!!
