I think the bolt action rifle is preferred for accuracy

Ar15 rifles lock the bolt directly to the barrel with 9 lugs, lot more accurate than a lot of bolt guns.

And the guys that were packing pistols were smart to run, you don't engage anyone using a rifle with a pistol, unless the barrel is on their head.

This isn't a gun argument about dallas, the guy could have had a 300 win mag with a high magnification scope and done twice the damage.

Yes much better guns.
And if you just kill for the fun of it, it makes it more challenging knowing you only have one shot.

Even with a semi your probably going to get just one shot anyway when deer hear the first shot they're gone.

? A gun is designed to launch a projectile at high speeds, don't interject emotion into it. Am I killing paper targets?

I know several police officers & none of them are for taking firearms from law abiding citizens. A local police officer who had a young daughter kidnapped & killed by an internet stalker teaches concealed carry classes. He doesn't support disarming citizens anymore than taking away the internet which contributed to his daughter's death. In this state those with concealed carry licenses are put in a database which shows up when an officer runs a license number. Officers say they feel very safe when a traffic stop license check shows the driver has a CC permit. That means a background check has been done & felons don't have CC permits.

Deer are not the only game hunted in this state. Feral hogs are dangerous & a nuisance. The game & fish commission encourages hunters to kill as many as possible. They destroy habitat & kill other animals & destroy farmland & crops. It is not uncommon to find several hogs in one location & having a magazine with several rounds of ammo makes it possible to kill more than one & protects the hunter from attack. Have you ever had a hog with large tusks run toward you?
