I know several police officers & none of them are for taking firearms from law abiding citizens. A local police officer who had a young daughter kidnapped & killed by an internet stalker teaches concealed carry classes. He doesn't support disarming citizens anymore than taking away the internet which contributed to his daughter's death. In this state those with concealed carry licenses are put in a database which shows up when an officer runs a license number. Officers say they feel very safe when a traffic stop license check shows the driver has a CC permit. That means a background check has been done & felons don't have CC permits.

I think they are going to change minds in the following years.
I know many are macho types did time in the service,men's men, like guns and so forth.
But they are going to see having all theses guns out there increases the chances they may not come home one day.

Ignorant people assume that all the hunters hunt is Bambi. Hunting is necessary to control the population of wild animals. In addition to feral hogs I mentioned this state has an over population of deer & elk. The game & fish commission has announced an increase in the bag limit of deer & elk this next season. Deer & elk are dying from chronic wasting disease due to overpopulation. It is the goal to control the population & lessen the spread of the deadly disease.
Feral hogs are a very real threat to humans & threaten the lively hood of farmers. Residents of cities or retirement homes haven't a clue what goes on in the country. They are in their own small little world & oblivious to the world around them.

It was a cop that taught my wife how to use her handgun. He also knows the areas she travels thru to work, and advised her to carry it.

Same here, it was a cop (dad) that taught the whole family to shoot. He always left his service revolver laying on the nightstand, we all knew better than to touch it.

the left loves telling people what they need
