Let's eliminate and simplify everything. It will be nice to eliminate all company names into one brand, and one contract language for everybody nationwide.
It will realigned all existing terminals territory for better coverage and condensed freight, less confusion to customers, avoid double drivers sent into one customer dock from our different companies.
Eliminate excessive higher rank regionals managers and supervisors.
Better use of equipment.
Make one seniority list for every terminal combining cartage, city drivers and shuttle drivers, better assignment and control of labor. Eliminate assignment language, just use super seniority.
One language contract for everybody means, one set of rules, one set of benefits, less agraviences.
What do you think?
Make it a proposal for our next contract. We waste a lot time with our union leaders because every region is different, it creates confusion and lot of unnecessary talk and at the end we get screw. One set of rules will makes concentrate on what we want.

How about shoving that idea. Why would you combine a proven loser yrc "freight" with the regionals who actually move freight and make money.

A simple yes or no would have sufficed.

You forget one important piece to this puzzle. We had to integrate (merge) Yellow and Roadway and deal with all the problems that causes. Equipment issues, duplicate terminals, dovetailing, software issues, millions in changes of Ops., etc.

Holland, NPME and Reddaway didn't have to do that. They operated business as they did the day before it all went down. All Holland had to do was start interlining with NPME in the N. East. There wasn't any disruption to your Systems, Networks and we are all fortunate for that.

Just about everything above,"better use of equipment" was tried by Zollars. The rest....... Would never get agreed too. I am not agreeing or disagreeing with your post, but do know we still have many working here with a 60's-70's union mentality as far as seniority, work rules and so on. YRC will never be able to compete with non union LTL carriers trying to do things now like they did 30 years ago.

They bought USF not just Holland. You have some guy come along with an ego bigger than his brain that wants to over pay for your company. What would you do?
There isn't anything to do. I'm not criticizing or whining. Holland was and is a really Great Teamster Company. I was just pointing out to yrc-atm about all the pitfalls there were to the Y & R integration.

Y had fixed position 5th wheel twin screws that couldn't hook to R pup trailers. We had jiff-lox tractors yet, no switchers at Y knew how to jiff up or un jiff them. We had to turn the release handle on hundreds of pintle hooks around because the Y converters were breaking them off. There were and are trailers with Dayton Wheels on them yet. This just is one aspect of the Merger. It was a nightmare every d/n. Forget about all the millions this consumed, on top of the original debt.

New Vendors, corporate lodging cards, comdata cards, contact phone #'s. The list goes on and on. It was like the first day of School.

Thankfully, and I mean thankfully, Holland and NPME didn't have to go through this.

ps. you can't merge regional with long haul, it doesn't work. both Y & R tried it before, disastrous.

YRC-ATM is a self-centered individual who is concerned with no-one but himself. He is so ungrateful that he probably chastises his mother for making noise while giving birth to him.
Yeah I so grateful your precious yellow pig ceo thought he could rule the industry by overpaying on credit for the USF companies. YOU should be grateful he did. The regionals are the dose of chemo that has kept the cancer filled yellow pig alive.

You do understand that none of the Teamsters at Yellow OR Roadway were consulted on ANY acquisition. Also $bill is no longer the CEO of YRCW.
The BODs and shareholders of USF Group, Yellow Corporation and Roadway Corporation are who threw the Teamsters under the bus. And the fact that you cannot accept that fundamental reality speaks volumes.

it does not matter if we merge or not , as the yellow pig gets all the money in the end anyway, really think about it ,they are the parent pig company !!!!! plus Jamie needs more hair gel money !!!

Could you pick up the pace a little bit at work so the "pig" could get some radiation with that chemo. Remember, this is the age of Obamacare and we want it all. Lol
