PORTLAND, Ore. - A semi-truck that caught fire on Interstate 84 created a huge traffic mess Thursday afternoon.
The incident happened just before 5 p.m. on I-84 at Northeast 122nd Avenue.
Both the westbound and eastbound lanes ended up getting shut down as crews moved in to contain the situation.
Four people were transported to local hospitals with non life-threatening injuries. One firefighter was treated at the scene for heat exhaustion and transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
According to police on the scene, the semi-truck, which was reportedly transporting non-flammable baby items, had some type of mechanical problem.
