Dayton | Outside carriers/owner operators

Well is sounds like you are kind of getting the same treatment!! But if you all like other people doing your job then maybe you should go work for the subcontractor who is actually working!! And ultimately will replace all of you anyways!!

Dayton has always used outside carriers. Usually one way trips. I personally have all the work that I can handle.

The U word will get you fired real fast at Dayton. That will even **** off drivers. Zero chance of that happening.
Estes is the same. It was tried once and they fired everybody at that terminal and shut it down. I don't think the union has any more power in the trucking business. It's barely hanging on. I think the unions are looking into other businesses mostly up north or out west. When companies are big enough to just shut down and wait you out its over. No matter your stance on it at some point you have to feed your family.

Then find a guy or a few of them who are ready to leave and let them lead the fight for your future!! If you don't stand up you will never win!!! That is a scare tactic !! they can not fire or replace a whole company at once!! Believe it ir not the employee has the upper hand right now and you need to use it for your advantage!!!
It's not the 50s or 60s anymore. Most at in the l.t.l's pay a fair wage with various bennies. Reality is you can either quit and go somewhere else or just realize it is what it is. You talk union to much and no company will want to hire, and what few union companies that are left are pretty much ay a stalemate right now. I have not seen an add for full time employment at a union company in a long while. I have nothing against the union but its probably an endangered species now.

It's only endangered because people in the Era are accepting the " is what it is" mentality!! If you want have respect in the work place you need to go and get it!! That's a statement for everyone in every work place!! Employer's do not care about their employees we are problems for them that is why we get treated the way we do!! We are what makes the companies what they are!! I believe they have forgotten that!!

Sounds like wether you admit it or not it's time to stand up and fight for yourselves!!! Union may not be the best way but it may be the only way to earn rights and some job protection!! Just an opinion!!
How are those 'rights & protections' working out for the 20,000 teamster union employees of Yellow? ( I believe Yellow had 50,000 teamsters combined at one time)
Or the 400,000 teamsters that used to be in the LTL industry?
Look like those union protections failed miserably..
Who would want that?
