Hey guys just wanted to say after working this week in the city, I am glad to be going to extra board soon. It is a shame when you come in no idea if you will get a pallet jack or hand cart and then they just cram the freight in there and start telling you to get going. I am really appreciative now of the job you guys do.

you weren't aware of the nationwide estes pallet jack virus? It ranks above west nile virus and eboli for its fast spreading symptoms. Partial causes include needleremovalanusimpossiblus and lintypocketoinia.
If you have access to bolt cutters you can get a pallet jack at our terminal. It's a shame the extra work that someone has to do because the senior guy don't want to give up his precious pallet jack that never gets used. Most of the guys just make multiple trips up the freight elevator or hopes the jobsite has a chain to drag the pallet to the rear. Same story with hand trucks.

Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it,ever pull a skid to the tail with a hand cart and hope ya don't fall on yer butt or fall out the back?

Done that more than once.What really sucks is when you have to deliver a bunch of brand new aluminum hand carts to Sysco or Coke.howsa freight up that way KGT?

Today wasn't bad I worked a little over 10hrs compared to 11's&12's last 4 days,lot of junk freight-school del. and hunter blinds.You heard we have a new boss from fed ex and seems determined to bring her rules with her- no trk will idle if your not in it, locks on trls, shirts, clean shave,trim them beards. I know what the drill is! (4 yrs in the Marines) Some guys dress like it's Saturday an me and my boys are gonna shoot hoops so maybe that's where she was going with the rules. Dispatcher was called to the Ivory Tower and told to get it together in 1 week well you know the rest of the story, i feel bad for him known him for 15 yrs but he can't grasp new system wasted man hours,fuel,missed p/u's and del. guys being pulled out of the area so everyone does a lateral move left or right and the clock is ticking, other wise it is some what busy up here
I would like to see the look on our guys faces if those rules were brought down here. That dispatcher sounds to be as organized as I am. I hope he gets it togerther. I think anyone can get it together when it becomes a matter of keeping your job.
