I hate those honey do's as well but if I don't do the honey do's then honey has to do and if honey has to do there is no doing this honey.
Now that is a good point

Well I don't know about bleeding them dry, I think that may be an opinion formed through subjective observation that has nothing to do with facts and the write downs associated with the purchase of USF. And the serious competition that has been taking place in the long distance LTL market these past couple of years.
Of course there are many that would like to see all of us LTL drivers working under 3rd world conditions and wages. And the "race to the bottom" may just make it happen sooner than later.
I'd just like to see Estes step up to the plate and hit a home run for "family values" and pay time and a half after 8 or the very least after 40. It's what has been deemed fair in other industries for the past 70 years or more.
Out here in the west time and a half has for the most part been a given even in non-union work places until recently.

They alway's offer extra board if your run is cut. That's always been a problem here. I know folks that had the same run for years and lost them. They were alway's put on extra board. The problem is the emty miles on the return. If there is constant emty miles on a bid run it will eventually be cut. Some folks are spoiled and woundn't think about running extra board and quit. They have to be home. Which I think that "being home" thing is a little overrated. Also there is no terminal in Tifton Ga.
Well when you got a wife and two kids you get used to being home and when you got 12 years in the company and they tell you welcome back to extra board son while some guy that has a couple of years in gets to get home every other day or everday for that matter that sucks.
Call me selfish but most companies I know of reward employee's for there time spent in the company.
Seniority should matter.
Two things Estes could do to make it a good company make time matter and the hourly with overtime.
Hell they basically pay it now anyway with the way alot of these guys milk it for 60 hours.
My mistake It was Albany Ga. The Driver was From TiftonThey alway's offer extra board if your run is cut. That's always been a problem here. Mildew, I am glad you are happy working for Estes. You mentioned on the other thread that you love your football and you never miss a game working for Estes. And you said a truck driver is a truck driver and a dockworker is a dockworker. But if what you say is true (" a truck driver is a truck driver") then why are there "green boards, extra boards, hub boards" all receiving different pay scales? And then, on top of all that, another pay policy for the west? That doesn't sound fair to me. And how about departing from your lay down, at a terminal, before your (dot mandated, mandatory) 10 hr. rest period? Sounds like a serious breach of federal safety laws to me. Laws that are set in stone, to protect you, and the public at large. I don't know Mildew. It all sounds pretty strange to me. But who am I? I'm just a disgruntled x employee. Right? Teamster Elvis out......
