What is cheaper? Fees or the possible loss of the bucks and merchandise?
Throw it past your buyer. My thoughts,if he refuses to even consider, most likely a scam.

For 550 stay away, let him send a check when it clears your bank send his helmet.Too many paypal scams to take a chance with your banking info. if they balk it's probably a scam

PayPal can be trusted.I trust it everyday , just dont send or accept money as a gift unless you are comfortable with the person. I have sent thousands thru PAyPal and got paid for my ebay and other items this way. I just shipped a item to Australia and got paid thru PalPal.

The problem with an overseas check is you have too find a bank that will cash it cause it is from overseas.

I am also leery that it could be a scam to get enough of my information to steal my identity.

One can never be too careful.

My research on PayPal site had procedure for buyer to file a dispute. If the guy got the thing and said he didn't I could have a problem.

Send it signature required. You will know he got it.
