They are to go to the top of the flexboard. THIS IS HOW IT IS TO BE DONE. They can not fall into a bid spot. They retain the pay they get according to years of service.

thats how its normaly done whenever a salaried employee voluntarily moves back to hourly employment but as you all probably already know this was not voluntary on the part of the PS and as such is being taken care of differently.
In most cases the PS has many years of seniority and has helped to hire at least 50 percent of the employees in his barn.

Allowing the PS to dovetail in is the right thing to do. may not sit well with those drivers that get bumped but its the right thing do do.

This is the way they did it at our barn.

A start time should be created they gave up a start time just to take the PS job an that was more likey a vol

top of flex board sounds good, until next year when rebid time.

but then again they usually do have all that seniority and might be offered to take a bid, to compensate for the somewhat of a demotion.

btw, do you guys think these PS guys are taking a paycut or pay increase?

based on an average of the hours they worked on salary to the hours they will work as a driver with overtime

ps position

SQUARE HEAD I understand 100% what you are getting at but this post should explain it ...

PS's were (are) salaried employees because they are suppose to be available for city and linehaul drivers to access him/her. Their hours are suppose to vary so everyone can get a chance to see them if necessary ...

I believe he/she should go into a bid position. It wasn't their idea to get back into a truck, when the company decided to eliminate their job. Now if they volunteered to go back to driving, and their position still existed, then they should go to the flex board.
