No they signed to protect and serve the community.
And when a douche bag of society is eliminated.......they've done their job, since they are protecting the community by getting the scum off the streets.

If that city the work in has a high murder rate. Common sense tells you it's a risk you can become a statistic working in that area.
You have zero respect for the police and/or the job that they do, we get that. But without them, the inner city crime spreads out to those same suburbs that you live in. Then we have anarchy since most of us won't tolerate the thug's behavior.

That's all that is required for the police to be on edge. The CD's that he was selling illegally weren't going to kill the cops, and without the illegal gun, the police would have never even drawn theirs.
So the police should give a guy with a gun that is threatening people the benefit of the doubt? You can't be serious.
And had he complied with their commands, he wouldn't have even ended up on the ground to begin with.
I agree with being on high alert for him having a gun. I'm talking about after the had secured his weapon had him in cuff knee to the back was anymore excessive force required?

You mentioned "past practice". Past practice is reflected in the national figures and the middle aged Black male being involved in the highest amount of crime within this entire country. And since there are tens of thousands of police interactions with the public, every single day, and only the occasional Police shooting of a black person, in my opinion, the police have the right to use common sense and go on high alert, and there is no excuse whatsoever for a Black person to think that the police are going to shoot him today, since the statistics show that it is very, very, unlikely that they will even have a confrontation, let alone get shot.

I understand that you are just using "trigger happy" as a way to sensationalize the issue, but the statistics clearly DO NOT show that the police are trigger happy has a group. Is there a few that panic or make mistakes on occasion? Heck ya, and one mistake is too many in my opinion, but they are human beings, and they would like to go home to their families each night, just like we do.

If you choose to never read another post of mine, that's fine, but do me one favor and watch this video..........It's only 2:09 seconds, but it says it all.

Yes a black man does with everything is going on in this world concerning law enforcement plus history since early 1900s nothings changed the way blacks are treated. There is just video to catch it now and it is top story on mainstream media now for all of America to see. Like I said in the beginning you have to walk a black man shoes to understand his way of thinking towards law enforcement.

In your posts you have referenced the weapon being secured. The videos I have watched show the weapon being taken out of his pocket after the shooting has stopped.

It is true how would they know the guy's name when they received the call from dispatch but it still doesn't justify how they reacted after they secured the weapon and had him restrained no matter what his record was.
Here is where you go wrong. The police HAD NOT secured the weapon, that's what caused their reaction. They realized that he was reaching for it.

You can prejudge the situation before all the facts come out,as it seems lots of others have done the same.Shooting cops, inciting riots, blocking commerce, etc. is not a way to gain empathy from the general public,in the mean time. The police officer shooting in Louisiana and Minny have been driven to the back burner by the reactions of some.
BTW,if these officers prove to be guilty in a court of law,let them burn.Until then, hopefully we can recover from the broken pieces of the aftermath.
Exactly. The protesters are making their entire cause worthless when they obstruct the rest of us and our daily activities. I have no problem with the protests, until they start affecting our daily lives. Then I call them for what they are......anarchists.

And you are spot on with the back burner part. The two shooting aren't even the top story anymore, it's ::shit:: bags like Jesse Jackson and him spewing his racial hate that has taken over the headlines. And since Racebait Inc. is despised by most civilized Americans, the entire issue about the shootings has become irrelevant and old news.

Racebait Inc. stole the headlines, so it's just another case of the same old, same old.

Children are often taught to hate & disrespect police officers. There has been a story about a white police officer in North Little Rock on the news that has gone the extra mile to show children that cops are their friends. I think the officer's name is Tommy Norman & he has raised over $50K to help children. I think the story is also on social media. I don't do Twitter or Facebook. I will try to find the report. I think it was on KTHV 11

Well, I guess that I'm never going to get that opportunity to "walk in a Black man's shoes", but I have several friends that live it every day. And they've even told me stories about them getting stopped for no apparent reason, but they were respectful to the officer and (I'll be damned) the officer was respectful back. Then they went on with day........

And if you actually think that things HAVEN'T improved over the years, I guess that we will just have to disagree.

We just watched the movie about 9/11 last night. I explained to my kids how President Bush's speech, while standing in the rubble of the towers, really brought this country together......all skin colors. And now look where we stand, under the leadership of our "First Black President". What a shame.

Right there is the entire problem, it's called culture. The parents (mother and sperm donor) would rather live in a crime infested cesspool of violence and be allowed to commit their crimes. And those standing in the way of that way of life are the police officers, therefore they teach their children to hate those standing in the way.
Sad but true.

That POS should be thrown out of the league for stirring the racial pot. His apology means nothing. He's only trying to protect his millions of dollars. But the league can't address issues like this, they've still got to get to the bottom of that Tom Brady ball deflation investigation.

Side note: Anyone that is in the public eye that still tweets or is on FakeBook, is a :censored: idiot, since there are people spending their entire day looking for something that they can twist and spin as a negative.

Yep. Just listen to Racebait Inc. and the politicians.........even Obama. They refuse to address the behavior, and would rather just focus on the end result. We've become a society where our behavior is never questioned and everything is someone Else's fault.

Same here, but the guy is black, so it will be swept under the rug as "just emotions" and no real intent.
But just let a white player post something so idiotic and see what happens.

Sternbeck said it wasn't immediately clear why the people allegedly fired at officers.
Oh, it's real clear to me. They did it because they have been convinced that Blacks have been wronged and things are getting worse for them.(Which is b.s.) It comes straight out of the President's mouth. Our President and RaceBait Inc. are giving them all of the authorization that they need by badmouthing the police every day.
