ABF | Question

Is there any ABF terminal.That runs on 8 hour shift. All time paid on the clock.

Or is all there terminals set up at 8.5 hour shift. Half hour lunch not paid for?

I have been retired 6 years. Master Freight said 30 minute UNPAID lunch between the 4th & 6th hour. If agreed to with the dispatcher you could take lunch before the 4th hour, or after the 6th hour. You ALWAYS had 30 minutes deducted from your pay each day. UNLESS you worked 4 or maybe 5 hours straight, then clocked out and went home. Then they would pay you for your not taken lunch, which the dispatcher on duty would initial on you time card NO LUNCH. But the general rule 90% of the time you would take a lunch between the 4th & 6th hour. Each barn is different. The Fort did crack down one year on the no lunch & then everybody took one. von.

In the NJ/NY Supplement, if a driver was asked to work through lunch, he was paid time and a half for that hour and was also allowed 20 minutes for time to eat while on the clock.

And does he still get to drive a 70 mph tractor???
