This is KK’s two cents worth:
Re: Local meetings
OK....My 2 key strokes worth....ALL contracts have been voted on by using the 50% plus 1 for many years now...this will be no different....the ONLY Local to say no in the vote at the 2 man was Local 600, St. Louis, or they just sat there and said nothing....with that said....it does not matter if your Local officials are trying to "sell it" or not....it is up to YOU...THE ABF TEAMSTER to get off your collectively bargained asses and vote!

If you believe management.....then vote yes.....if you do not...then vote no, and we will see what ABF's next move is!...Why be pissed off at your Local?...It is a National contract negogiated by The Committee....it is up to YOU if it passes or not!...I'm Just Sayin'.....KK

Now, This is mine:
You say that if you believe management…what a joke!!!! Where in the hell have you been! TYSON is pushing these concessions.
Why be pissed at the locals:
The locals should be representing the wishes of the rank and file and standing up to Tyson. This is clearly not the case. I can see their reasoning though, it would be political ******* for them to do so. But I do blame Tyson! He is single handedly destroying everything that we have fought for in the past and turning the pitting the locals against the rank and file. Our solidarity will be a thing of the past. You just sit back and watch! Tyson made one big mistake by thinking that he can continue to intimidate the rank and file to anything that he desires. He is pushing this just as much as the company, if not more.
You say that it doesn’t matter if they are trying to sell it to you:

You are dead wrong! They are worse than the company when they try to ram this down our throats. We pay the union for representation, not to try and convince us in which way to vote. We are all grown men and women and can make educated decisions on our own behalf. We don’t need pushed into making one that Tyson believes. I really can’t tell you the real reason that Tyson is selling this, we may never find out but it is not in the best interest of the rank and file.Just ask any ABF Teamster. We are OVERWHELMINGLY AGAINST this!!!!!!!!!
I am a Teamster and will stand up to anybody that tries to weaken and destroy it,even if it’s from within our leadership.A true teamster will not follow blindly or sit back and do nothing when they see it is being destroyed from within.

The day of intimidation is over Tyson..you just went too far!

First of all I am strongly a no vote second KK's been through this HE is just sharing his observations, he's probably against it as much as most of us.

I know piker. I know that KK has been through this and I agree and respect most of his posts, but on this one,I strongly disagree. This just really eats me up when I see our own leadership tearing us apart!

You did not get the message....so here I go again....It is up tp the ABF Teamster to vote on this....not the IBT....not the Local....not management....YOU, the rank and file ABF Teamster.

If you beleive ABF, then vote yes....if you do not....then vote no....the sad part about our voting records as Teamsters is, that 3 out of 10 Teamsters vote on any ballot that comes to their houses....SO...it is up to you to get the vote out in your barn, as the way your Brothers & Sisters see fit....ABF and YRC is apples and oranges....ABF has not bled enough before asking for concessions, as did YRC....BUT, should they bleed more, or help bandage the wound left by the disadvantages in the LTL market?...that will be left up to the 3 out of every 10 Teamsters who vote!.....KK

You didn't get the message that I was saying. This is what you should of said since you joined in our concession topic;

"If you beleive Tyson, then vote yes....if you do not....then vote no"

Haven't you been reading all of the info that that is on the IBT site.I thought that I was at the ABF site for a minute.

This is the kind of info all over the IBT site:
"The Teamsters’ belief that ABF’s current financial woes require immediate and meaningful economic relief was further validated by the record quarterly operating loss of $35.7 million, which translated into an operating ratio of 110.7, the company reported Friday, April 23."

Now,tell me again...if you should of said" if you believe ABF" ?

Believe or do not believe in whom you want to Brother....what you guys better believe in is this.....IT AINT A DONE DEAL, until the ballots are counted...If you allow only 1,000 to vote, it will only take 501 to pass it, or fail it....so, make damn sure you get the vote out on this, and quit believing the "Its a done deal "::shit:: (That is what ABF wants you to believe in) and VOTE!.....KK.....

ABF Teamsters will prevail! I see atleast an 80% - No vote.

KK,

I was told that 710 voiced their members feelings is that true?
[/quote]

They might have during the Q&A session....but Local 600, STL was the only one to say NEA, when it came to a vote....that does not mean someone could have been against it and sat there in silent mode.....KK
