Has anyone asked their locals why the retirees are voting on our pay? Chicago local says ballots were mailed out accidently and they wont count. Yeah riiiiight.
 
I have heard that they sent ballots to all that were on the seniority list within the past 5 yrs. That could be quite a few votes, all with no downside to voting yes
 
Rank and file members will vote Brother....not retirees....if they got a ballot...it will not be counted, as they are not on the ECR....Election Control Roster....observers will be there....do not worry......KK
 
How will they know who is retired or not? The ballots have no identification on them nor do the envelopes. it is a totally secret ballot from what I can see. that being the case all returned ballots will be counted

Pat, the envelopes have your name and local on them, it's on the outside back of the outer envelope. That's how they sort the inner blank ballot envelopes so they can have a total count for each local. If your name isn't on the master list your inner envelope is thrown out before it's added to the tote for your local. I hope this helps you to understand what KK's telling you.
 
I dont know, it seems to me it would have been easier to remove them from the mailing list than to manually sort them out. I could be wrong ........but I have been lied to before.

[/quote]If you want to know all the facts....go to the YRC forum and search for the posts of information we had on the 10% and 5% pay cut votes....the system is the same....You are on the ECR if you are a dues paying member, or you are on layoff, and within your 5 year recall rights....anybody else is kicked off when the envelope is scanned....Local 728 is sending 2 ABFers to observe....what is your Local doing?.....KK
 
Thanks for the clarification Benny, I've been paying more attention to trying how to figure out how and where they have hid the money over the last year and sending questions to askwes@abf. Thanks again for the clarity on the matter. It's still a no vote to me. They want to take the money from my bank acct to replenish theirs. Sorry but I guess I should forward them my savings statements and once they reviewed them they might offer me a 15% raise( haha)
 
We have our BA going and one of our rank and file that we can trust. It just seems like a huge undertaking to do it manually. Maybe I am just paranoid(wonder why).

Not only do we have retiree voting, we have fired employees, and the best part, employees that have been deceased for some time, with full knowledge of the company and the union of their passing. I think it may be time to get a third party involved, like the District Attorney.
 
You guys sound to paranoid you almost scare me. The company, the union and everyone involved with this vote know if something is underhanded they will get caught. The vote will be what it is no matter what you think it should be.

Sometimes it seems to me that there are more than a few posters here that might be worring about ALIENS and who else was at Daly Plaza! :biglaugh:

Daly plaza? where the HECK is Daly plaza? I never heard of that. If your talking about DALEY Plaza, there is one in Chicago. I think there is a legitimate objection or protest here. But being that you work at 309 speaks volumes.
