right to work also means right to fire. tennessee is one of those states. working in a union shop does give you protection againist this. if you work in a union shop it would be in your best interest to join the union. just saying.

If you are referring to "at will" employment you are exactly right. With no contract between employees and employer, you can be fired for any non-discriminatory reason. Without cause i may add.

Right to work: this also means right to work for less pay and less benefits.
 
"right to work" barely matters in an organizing drive, everyone has the same federal labor rights, the only thing RTW confronts is compulsory dues paying. it only means that you don't have to join a union even at a union shop. good luck with that, btw.
