There is a Law, approved by Congress and signed by a President long ago, that permits a US President to use any funds he deems necessary, to build a wall or road to interdict drug trafficking.
There were tons of posts and threads about this at the time. SCOTUS approved the redistribution. I’m pretty sure you were here (and probably posted in some of those threads.). As you would throw out whenever Trump lost something in a court, this needs said back to you-“It’s the Law of the Land!”…..
There is still the separation of powers per the constitution and he appropriated funds destined by congress to be used for military construction projects using the emergency declaration executive orders. There was no eminent threat, as a matter of fact Trump said he didn't have to do it , he did it because he wanted to fulfill his campaign promise and couldn't get the funding from Congress. Be careful what you are comfortable with as Presidents in the future will use the same tactics. The emergency clause needs to be better defined.
