ALOT OF NATIONAL GUYS HAVE START TIMES FROM THE GET GO AND ALOT OF FREIGHT GUYS ARE ON CALL. SOME OF THE NATIONAL GUYS WANT START TIMES WHEN THEY COME OVER, I'VE SAID YOU WILL BE IN THE MIX WITH THE REST OF US AND YOU MIGHT BE ON CALL OR ON THE DOCK DEPENDING ON HOW THE NEW BID LAYS OUT. I'VE HEARD ALL NEGATIVE COMMENTS :::shit::: FROM ALL NATIONAL DRIVERS. BE GLAD YOU HAVE A JOB.:eck13: I WILL DRIVE, WORK THE DOCK, OR DO WHATEVER IS EXPECTED OF ME TOO KEEP A JOB AND I WONT CRY ABOUT IT. :icon_dance:

Me too! Count me in on the doing anything and not complaining about not have a start time.

I do not understand what you mean about start times? Do you mean if you have a bid it does not have a start time? All of our runs has a set time to come in like say the 19:30 Cleveland you are due out at 19:30 so you have to come in around 19:00 to get hooked up. One thing we do not have is call blocks for extra board so they just call you whenever they need you.

This is only an opinion, and we all know about them, everybody has one!!! Don`t you all think we should just wait a while and see how this all plays out. The truth be told none of us are making any of the choices. I`m a national driver with some senority so I will have a job, but where I used to walk across the street to work now I will be driving 57 miles a day if I want my job. Believe me all of us at national wish it could continue on as always but that is not gonna happen. Half of our drivers are going to one terminal and will do well on the board the other half are going to a different terminal and will be on the bottom of the board. I would think every one freight or national has a complaint about how this is going but the truth of it all is your only choice is go with the flow or find another job.

Richard Cranium doesn't want to be more of a dick than he already is.....................But don't you people that are asking about dispatch rules have computers in your terminals that are hooked up to the FedEx Intranet? All the information is there under the Employee Handbook, Lesson 15.

our computers in the drivers room only link to the intranet for a few minutes then it knocks you off.

yeah the only 'puter in our breakroom is a driver kiosk. can't get to the www.

I'd be asking the service center leadership team (isn't that a crock of ::shit:: ) where the computer is that is supposed to allow you access to the ECO page which has all sorts of employee related items. If they say there isn't one, and won't be one, stir the HR pot. Oh, BTW, internet explorer should be readily available from all kiosks.

the kiosk will to go to www. just click on the explorer icon on the bottom toolbar but like I said 3 minutes is all you get. I guess they coincide with the 3 minute idle.

So, maybe that 1900 would be your start/show time?

what is the purpose of the truckingboard. I thought it was to get information not comments like this. Fxn is new to our system you could probably ask alot of fxf people and they wouldnt know the answer. we use to get handbooks but everybody knew the rules so they went to th intanet

They went to the intranet so that the rules could be changed in an instant. What ********* was trying to say was that all of you need to get real familiar with chapter 15 and maybe print a copy of chapter 15 so that when your local controller tries to do something that isn't correct you have something more than "I think you may be mistaken" to say.

Well they have never been clear on that Richard when we first got these bids they said we had to be in 30 min early to hook up but then if you did not get out until 20:00 due to an unseen problem they still only want to pay you for a 30min hook even though you have been working 1 hour. I always put down my hook plus anytime after we are due out. You guys don't understand National is so screwed up nothing is ran properly the first 3 years it was ran like two different companies at the same time. Let me ask you do you guys have to sit around for 2-3 hours after you are due out? that was a normal thing at National when we were busy and I do not mean for one or two people there would be 15 guys sitting in the drivers lounge every night. We still have people that sit around waiting for their load every night. I am actually glad to be switching to the Freight system it runs smoother from what I understand.

on a day time bid if your gate time is 0800 you can leave on your show at 0730. If your hooks are not ready you have to give up thirty minutes after your show then you get paid. So if you try to leave on you show everyday techniquely you will be giving up an hour. If you are on a shutlle at night and your hook are not ready you have to work the dock if works available, If no work you get paid thirty minutes after your show.

i want a start time and will complain if i don't get one. after so many years of service i deserve a bid time. now where i differ from many drivers is i'm not real concerned on what area i run some guys are to scared to try to learn a new route and thats where the crying begins. on the bid that i am on now very rarely do i run the same area twice in one week and i like it that way. sometimes its a struggle but i manage to get it done. i feel like with all the merging and other bs goin on the more areas i know the more usefull i am the more likely i will be working

Will if you have alot of time in i"m sure you will get a bid start time. May not be as early as you have now. All depends on where you are on the board. At our center we have about 12 extra board city drives ,. They get a wake up call for city dispatch in the morning to let them know what time to come in that day. May be early may be later they never know. Same with the road drives have so many bid start times and so many extra board with no set start time. And as far as city routes go that will be handed out by city dispatch. Where they send you is where you go. If you don't like where they send you and complain about it. You can bet your house you will be back in that area the next day.

Same with us...they treat us like like mushrooms, keep us in the dark and feed us....well you know!!
