Exit interviews ?
Someone asked me about this , never in my 22 years have I
heard of this . Why would they even care what a associate thinks ?

My experience with it is they would like to know any issues you may have had that caused you to decide to leave, and also they may put it on the paperwork that you are rehireable.

Usually at our center they won’t even let you work a notice...tell them you’re leaving in two weeks and they’ll go ahead and escort you out the door today!!

The two guys that quit right before me were going to other LTL’s and they escorted them out, I wasn’t so I was able to work my 2 weeks.

Sadly, that's happened at our center too. I don't think it would now, they don't even get enough applicants to fill positions now.

Pretty much every LTL does that, IF going to a competitor. If no conflict of interest, you're good. Reasonable enough, I think.

The other side of that coin is, the new employer is happy to let you start right away, if you want to.

Never had an exit interview. I have, however, been begged not to quit. My last two weeks at FedEx alone, I had two supervisors and three city drivers ask me to reconsider. The regional operations manager was sad to see me go.

At Day & Ross, dispatch begged me to stay. At Speedy, the owner of the company asked if there was anything he could do. Even Highland Transport, where I currently work, has placed value on my ability to get work done. My folks raised me with a good work ethic, never thought it was a big deal before I got into trucking. Lotta guys can't seem to keep the left door shut.

Gotta say, it was really weird the first time I was asked not to quit.
