NEWPORT-An eastbound tractor-trailer truck overturned Friday morning near the 445-mile marker, creating a domino effect in which two other accidents resulted, leaving a Talbott man in critical condition.

Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Jason Lowe, who investigated all three of the accidents, told the Plain Talk that he and other troopers responded to a call at 6:33 a.m. on Friday after a 2002 Freightliner tractor-trailer truck, hauling dry wall materials, overturned after its driver lost control of the vehicle in a curve.

Lowe said that Clarence D. Floyd, 40, of Ahoskie, N.C., was traveling east in the restricted
lane of I-40 when his load of sheetrock shifted and he lost control, overturning the truck and trailer, spilling its cargo into the right lane.
