Seven Central Texans are dead after four different car wrecks across the state overnight. Three people from Rockdale died after their pickup truck slammed into a tractor-trailer northeast of Houston.
The crash happened on State Highway 105, near the Trinity River Bridge, about 15 miles north of Liberty.
Investigators say the pickup truck veered off the highway shoulder, the driver overcorrected and plowed into the grill of the 18-wheeler. The driver and passenger in the 18-wheeler died.
