Has anyone from the ABF Side. Had a chance to pull up and look over TForce Freight. New Contract offer. im curious to how it compares to ABF New Contract ..
Ther is some good language in TFORCE. Our is better IMO but ours is alot older.Has anyone from the ABF Side. Had a chance to pull up and look over TForce Freight. New Contract offer. im curious to how it compares to ABF New Contract ..
UPS=158.63 billion USWhy aren't ABF and TForce at the same pay rate as UPS for doing exactly the same work?

So then you're saying that payrates are proportional to Market Cap, right? Than Yellow should be allowed to pay a lower rate since their Market Cap is lower than all three. Your logic, correct? Or is there a little hypocrisy going on here?UPS=158.63 billion US
Market capitalization
Arcbest=2.68 billion US
Market capitalization
TFI =13.94 billion Canadian
Market capitalization.
Because they are not even a tenth the size of UPS combined…??!!!
When are you going to accept the fact that Yellow is dead…?!!So then you're saying that payrates are proportional to Market Cap, right? Why can't you answer my question instead of diverting? Coward?When are you going to accept the fact that Yellow is dead…?!!
I’m helping you keep your post count up……Why can't you answer my question instead of diverting? Coward?
We were told when we were UPS freight that our trailers were only generating under 5 thousand and package was generating 100 thousand plus!Why aren't ABF and TForce at the same pay rate as UPS for doing exactly the same work?
Not wanting to argue with you Tri, but you and I both know that small package and LTL are not the same work. And, you and I both know that each of the three companies you mentioned and Yellow are all under separate contracts that have clarified language, start dates and an end date. If Yellow and the Teamsters can come to an agreement re-negotiating your current contract to be voted on by the Yellow membership, then so be it. It is not starting out good with Hawkins already back tracking on the wage bump he claimed was offered last week. Hawkins just made himself out to be a liar and a POS in my book by doing that. I truly do hope that Yellow can survive and keep all of its employees working, but healthcare coverage is a must in my book. I just don’t see it happening with Hawkins being a Snake Oil salesman whose words and actions apparently are nothing more than BS!!!Why aren't ABF and TForce at the same pay rate as UPS for doing exactly the same work?
Simple answer is they had UPS money, 15 years 3 contracts got them a nice bump in pay….Why aren't ABF and TForce at the same pay rate as UPS for doing exactly the same work?
Yeah the eighth of a penny raise a mile I got on the road last contract was incredible!Simple answer is they had UPS money, 15 years 3 contracts got them a nice bump in pay….
SOR, not indending to argue, I just brought this up as a rhetorical question, sort of playing devil's advocate so to speak. Feeder drivers (tractor-trailer drivers) at UPS do exactly the same work as tractor-trailer drivers at freight companies yet they are paid somewhat more. So it appears that there are accommodations made by the Union for different pay rates depending on a companies profitability. I say this to counter those individuals who say "pay the rate or close the gate" about Yellow. My point being is that there is no standard "rate" after all. There are different rates for different companies, apparently based on their ability to pay. And if Yellow's profitability is lower than their peers (ABF and TForce) then they should be allowed a lower pay rate until they return to profitability. Just trying to make that logical point, that's all.Not wanting to argue with you Tri, but you and I both know that small package and LTL are not the same work. Not looking for an argument but all union companies bargained un nmfa for the same increases until Yrc/ Yellow started with the givebacks. Then ABF says we can’t complete with Yrc & cry’s the blues to the union & Hoffa then encourages ABF to take pay cuts loose vacations & supports ty contracts for us . I know we ultimately voted for all the stuff mentioned, but why is everything so different with a new President? We had 3 contracts settled with positive outcomes….So it appears that there are accommodations made by the Union for different pay rates depending on a companies profitability. My guess is the New President. Isn't a P#ssy like Hoffa was..Not looking for an argument but all union companies bargained un nmfa for the same increases until Yrc/ Yellow started with the givebacks. No argument GO40, just looking at the situation from a different angle. Still don't know why freight tractor-trailer drivers are not paid the same as tractor-trailer drivers at UPS. That's been going on for much longer than Yellow asking for concessions. Seems like all of freight has been getting concessions for a long time when compared to UPS. Question for me is why?Not looking for an argument but all union companies bargained un nmfa for the same increases until Yrc/ Yellow started with the givebacks. No all LTL should be paid the same. Parcel is a different field. DHL and UPS should be paid the same. Thats like saying a union janitor should be paid the same as a union nurse. Same field, same pay Yellow has been getting away with murder far to long.Why can't you answer my question instead of diverting? Coward?
I see the point you are making, and I somewhat agree. On the flip side however, Hawkins is wanting to open the Yellow contract and change the language to work the Road classification on the dock. So, if this were done, and the Yellow road driver worked the dock, should he/she not make more money than the UPS, T-Force, or ABF Road-Driver? After all, the Yellow road driver would have more job requirements/abilities than the other three companies have.SOR, not indending to argue, I just brought this up as a rhetorical question, sort of playing devil's advocate so to speak. Hell after 5 years they can almost afford that candy bar they've always wanted.Yeah the eighth of a penny raise a mile I got on the road last contract was incredible!
