The Electric Vehicle Scam

Bill I used to fill that thing up for under $10 now a day it would be around $55 and I couldn’t go 350 miles as the Pacifica does for that price.

I understand, the dork cars of today are hotter than the fancy cars of yesterday!

It's why I'm looking into property and buying a surplus humvee! I get sick of racing wallets!

There are different theories on that actually. At one time it was believed to be finite, but they have revised that. I get if you listen to the green folks they push a different story, but like any science you can not rely entirely upon the “settled science” mantra because that’s been proven false over and over

You can deplete any reasource if you are careless. It's why hunters are some of the largest consevationists. They need to protect and maintain the areas that provide themselves the opportunties to hunt.

Do you remember back in the 1970’s we were told we were going to run out of oil- we haven’t
And if we want to apply the “finite” theory we can equally apply it to Lithium as well . Oh and were we not supposed to run out of new sources for gold, silver, diamonds, natural gas, methane and so much more?

If we are to just rely upon the theory that the oil we drill is from decay of dinosaurs we would not really be doing earth science justice. Because we have continued decay of all kinds and forms of organic materials over billions of years. Take Peat for example that’s decayed organic matter, it was once used for fuel as well.

Take algae for example, decay of that is where you get oil and other gases from in oceans.

Peat is still very much used. Not in the same quantities as it once was. But it has not at all disappeared entirely. But this is also a good point. Just because the powers that be want to push EVs. That does not mean that oil consuming will cease entirely.

XPO had some not long ago I wonder how those worked for them

FedEx has a bunch out in California. I haven't heard one good thing about them. Brand new they are difficult to deal with. And over time the battery degrades and just gets worse and worse. The promises were not anything close to the reality.

Whatever the case is eventually as a race a human race we have to get off this rock. We have this star called Sol that big ball of light in the sky and at some point no matter if we drive electric cars or go back to horse and buggy (truly teamsters again) we have to exit this planet. That star will either eventually run out of Fusion fuel or go nova as other stars do. And we are the third rock from it so we won’t last long

The forward thinkers right now are looking for ways to colonize the solar system and the galaxy. As a species all of our eggs are in this basket. The best means of finding success is through diversification.

True that and look at the footprint. Is that and the recycling once the use ages out really saving the planet? How is the environmental impact? Birds and such? Noise pollution and medical around the wind turbines?

Just like with other things the solutions may end up worse than the original problem. We already see that with a different topic of the day.

Just like this : if you have to force something, it just may not be the actual right thing. Think about that a second. In this subject matter if you have to have the government by their emission standards and edict that by what was it t Biden said 2030 that all vehicles will have to be electric or how California has this going on under Newsome . The true trickle down effect is enormous. You already see how it effects carriers going into and operating out in California.

If a market demands it then manufacturers would produce in large numbers. Forcing the market change is a grand academic idea, but the nuts and bolts reality on the ground is different.

When the class 8 manufacturers had to go with all this emission crap on the engines to this day most are having problems, you had one of the best just up and say the heck with it in Caterpillar, and yet drive up and down the road and you still see classic 379’s running to this day. Do you think the Tesla plastic trucks will have that endurance and longevity? I don’t so when you trickle down as I said it effects many factors I don’t think the egg heads really considered

I got a buddy that runs his own truck. Bought a dinosaur. Pre DEF. It's a massive financial benefit. Even having to spend extra on repairs.

Electric cars power goes directly to each wheel , now does a Hellcats power go directly to the wheels? No

That’s why those little all wheel rice burners are so fast as well

Direct wheel drive. That's only the Tesla. Most EVs are " normal " set up. Front wheel. Rear wheel. Or all wheel drive. Just like a " normal " car. Because of the significantly higher weight of EVs there are quite a few rear wheel drive. That if you buy the higher trims are offered in all wheel drive.

During WWII the German army was supplemented by synthetic fuel. 80-year-old tech, someone will make all this new tech pay off some day.

They keep dumping kerosene in the diesel. These modern trucks don't like that at all. Censors flaking out like crazy. But it's been done for years and years.

It has been the long standing stance in the US that everyone else should pump as much as possible. Such that the US is the last large reserve available. Even your article repeatedly suggests that the concept of unlimited oil pooling is unsupported. And just a thought that cannot be proven.
Cloth masks are 100% effective against Covid right? Well it’s just a thought that can’t be proven after all

Cloth masks have been repeatedly disproven. It’s just nonsense.

Oil pooling is an idea. I’d like to see some evidence to support the concept.

They better hurry up and figure out what to do with those filthy spent batteries too. Nobody will ever convince electric cars are better for the planet, at least not yet.
I would say give it a few more years, and get a 3-4 million more EV cars and trucks on the road, along with a hot summer, and see if the electric grid will withstand the draw of electricity.
