I deleted the posts in ABF v YRC....it was NEVER intended to be a us vs them thread. Some where seeing it that way.
The best way to put an in to t was to delete it all and move on.
We both have been screwed over by our companies. YRCW's first votes was an act of survival, and that ABF's was an act of greed. Now faced with the second vote, after a LONG voting process at ABF, it was passed. The IBT failed miserably in protecting the members working conditions by even agreeing to vote on issues such as farming out Linehaul work and reducing road bids from 75% to 60%....these have been the mainstays of the NMFA since 1964.
Now comes YRCW after years of concessions by the employees, only to **** it away by grossly mis-managing the day to day operations and wasting our 15% in doing so. When we try to suggest them a better and cheaper way, we just get the cold shoulder and are told to "just drive the truck and follow my instructions."
Now they are coming back with some of the same line of concessions, and even some that are worse to demand we be allowed to vote on them.
It is up to OUR LOCAL LEADERS to go to that meeting on December 6th and ask WHERE ARE OUR PROPOSALS?
B sure to contact your Local Leaders and let them know how you feel, PRO & CON!
These proposals should have NEVER been accepted by the Committee to take to a 2-Man meeting in the first place.
But, ultimate, it will fall in to the hands of the members to vote yes or no, because that will be the IBT and our Local's chicken manure way out of it....then when it turns to more crap later, their response will be...."Well, the majority of the members voted for it, what can we do?"
Yeah... I voted Yes on the first ones....and I have sen the results, or lack thereof, and if this comes to a vote, I WILL BE VOTING NO....nothing will change that.
Please be informed, and vote YOUR own personal convictions....
Have a Safe & Happy Thanksgiving with your families....KK
