ODFL | trolley brake

they got no engine brake either.....
whats a trolley brake?
Most trucks have a lever by the steering wheel that when pulled it applies braking to the trailers only. If your going downhill with doubles and they get squirrly you can pull it and straiten your trailers. Its used for many other reasons than this.

Maybe it cost less if you do not get them when you order the truck. Anyway OD does have some just not many in rocky mtn. states.

A lot of companies discontinued them because drivers would use them for stop signs/ramps any kind of stopping and too many trailers out there with "no brakes". This was also done by owner operators figuring they would save their tractor brakes and use company brakes. (trailers)

Trolley ??

Also a lot of drivers would use the trolley break when stopped and if they had air leaks the air would bleed off and the brake would release and the truck would roll away.

You probaby still have them on owner operator trucks just not on company trucks
