The 10 Deadliest Jobs:

1. Logging workers
2. Fishers and related fishing workers
3. Aircraft pilot and flight engineers
4. Roofers
5. Structural iron and steel workers
6. Refuse and recyclable material collectors
7. Electrical power-line installers and repairers
8. Drivers/sales workers and truck drivers
9. Farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural managers
10. Construction laborers

I would have thought we would rank at least 4th.

Depends on the driver, there's some at my barn that should be dead already watching the crazy stuff they do on the yard.

Never mind that. I work with a few guys that I'm positive died years ago and just haven't fallen down yet.:Emoticon_digging::Poke:

Where did this list come from, and how in the heck is driving a truck more dangerous than a first responder job? This is EXTREEMLY biased.

I don't know, I was a paramedic for years and I'd have to say driving a truck has been more dangerous for me.

I disagree, it should be like this;
1 Firefighter
2 Police Officer
3 EMS
4 Truck Driver
5 Convience Store Clerk
6 Power line repairmen
7 Logging
8 Construction
9 Husband
10 Teacher

It's kind of hard to argue against the actual numbers with nothing more than perception.

I think your list is more accurate than Forbes, i have had enough close calls just exiting the cab on a city street even wearing a high Vis. vest

'First responders' would also in include firefighters and police. Driving a truck is not more dangerous than being an LEO.

I also do not see infantrymen on that list. Since when is driving a truck more dangerous than a infantryman in combat?

I say this list is biased, because every time I see one of these lists, it's always a different set of careers. The ONLY one that remains in the top 5 of every list is an airline pilot.

Numbers don't really mean squat as you can manipulate them any way you want. For example: the danger of truck driving is proportional to the level of education of the driver, performance anxiety and overconfidence. As long as you stay educated, stand up for yourself, and remain humble, the danger of truck driving is minimal.

Arguing with a woman should be number one on that list....

Definitely a deadly proposition.

Eye see your LAST call yet I'll raise or lower the odds:

1. City Kitty, County Mountie--especially when in domestic response.
2. Firefighter
3. E.M.S.
4. Commercial Fisherman
5. Convenience store clerk
6. Hooker
7. Shoe salesman
8. Truck stop employee
9. Truck driver
10. Teacher--elementary, mid, high school.

Lists are lists and your mileage will vary very much.
