U.S. Deaths in Afghanistan: Obama vs Bush | Just Foreign Policy

U.S. Deaths in Afghanistan: Obama vs Bush

By August 18, 2010, following two troop surges initiated by President Obama, that number had doubled. Today, over 1500 US troops have died in Afghanistan since President Obama took office—and yet, little in that war-torn country has changed.

I have become good friends with a former Marine who was a machine gunner in Afghanistan, while relating some wartime experiences he told me that in the particular part of Afghanistan that his unit was in there were several occasions that his unit found themselves in an "ambush situation" where they were being attacked on 3 sides. When they requested air support they were denied the support because they were in an area that the Obama administration was trying to portray as "stabilized". my friend escorted his best friends body home to his parents and fiancé after one such encounter. This so called commander in chief is a disgrace to the office and the biggest POS to ever hold the office.

The sad truth is....it would seem by the evidence that "most" liberals don't give a rats ass if Americans are dying. But admittedly..... I only have the last 5 years to go by.

I think I posted the numbers before somewhere. The body count under Bush was 575 which is 575 too many American lives lost. The last numbers I saw was 1620 killed there under Obama. It is interesting that while Bush was in office the reporters were filming the caskets being unloaded from the planes. When Obama took office the KIA stopped being important. How can anybody deny the media is reporting only what is favorable to Obama?

All I can say is Bush should have pursued the job at hand when he invaded Afghanistan.
Instead he largly pulled out to invade another country.
Did any of you guys call his butt on the floor for that? Or did you instead support him and vote him back in?
OH but its Obama in there now you say.
Sure is and he's getting us out this year, I wish it never happened.
Obama didn't start this war or the Iraq war either lets be honest.
The fact that many or most here supported going into both wars only leaves me with high disregard for your reasoning skills.
You broke it you bought it

I was all for obliterating BOTH of those countries and I am still for it. Bomb them till nothing is left. But your guy Obama and the democrats want to use our men and women for political reasons and they don't give a damn if they make it home. THAT MAGS>>>>>>>>IS THE DIFFERENCE!

And we did drop more bombs on Vietnam then during WW2, did that win the WAR?
    As we know it didn't.

Were you there? There were 17 U.S. counter bombing in the first 24 hours when we hit the ground, the first day.. What were we suppose to do, just sit there and have the **** bombed out of us... People like you are the ones that made VN political.. I don't think you should even speak of VN, you weren't there.. You're just going on what your DC favorite was telling you on the news... So no one here respects your expertise..

If you candy ass Liberals would stay out of the way and STFU, both of those wars would have been done, and everyone would have been home years ago.

    **** happens.......and I mean that literally.
Yep. And Gitmo is shuttered also.lol

If we are going to fight wars that are "Liberalized", we might as well not EVER get involved in another conflict. Look at Iraq since we've left.

Wars will never be totally ended.. Look at the Middle East.. Check out the Bible... "There will always be wars and rumors of wars"... That for sure, that hasn't been a part of a lie in the years past... But for those who don't read the Bible or believe there is a God, I just made it up OK...

It's a good thing Barry will have all US Troops out by 2014; my kid's unit was informed they are deploying to Afghanistan instead of Qatar. Jan 2015 until June 2015...

When they take off from Kabul with 200,000 lbs of Jet Fuel- I'm kinda hoping we have some troops there stopping the bad guy's rockets...

All you guys think is if we dropped a bigger bomb they would surrender.
What bigger bomb do we have a NUKE?
You drop that stuff and your going to get one back on your house

Do you see the act going on now Jimmy. The President over there releases a bunch of prisoners against the USA's will.
The USA says they attacked US servicemen and woman thats why they are in jail.
A few months back the Afghan President Karzi said he would sign the agreement for our continuation in Afghanistan if the Congress there pass it'
when beyond belief they passed it the President did a 180 and said he won't sign it.
It's all a act for our consumption, Karzi was told we want out and to arrange it for us, he's our guy, he works for the USA
We are leaving, but there might be some isolated bases kept to keep a eye on any further Al Quida training camps but then maybe not that either
