That looks like a twin screw Volvo sleeper. If it is and he was pulling three he was over length. Glad he's OK!!!!! but probable out of a job now.

Wow! Glad he is OK. Does anyone know how many states allow triples? I know Kansas does on the Turnpike, but I've never seen them. Only double 48's.

Nevada length is 95ft for trailers nose to tail tractor length dose not matter we use two volvox and one cascadia sleeper on our day runs

Doubt he will keep his job too much
damage here I'm afraid Glad he is ok though and he can find another job that shouldn't be an issue !

Seen trips running through middle of Portland, too. MT's and cross winds don't mix. Shouldn't lose his job, but that doesn't mean he won't.

No driver should ever have to pull a set of empties, ESPECIALLY a set of triples in the wind. I am not saying that it was the wind but I am just saying. When it starts to blow hard, pull on over and wait it out or better yet, find somewhere safe and drop those empties and get on down the road. Glad to hear he walked away from it.

Was he running on I 80?

Driver was WB on I80 about mm 60 east of fernley NV he had one loaded and two rack trlrs. Other drivers that ran and live nearby said it was a calm sunny day. Speculation and rumors are floating around but I will not float them here and have the driver convicted before the trial so to speak he is a good guy and deserves a fair investigation into what happened.

I talked to a friend of mine that works at FedEx in Reno and he was 1 hour ahead of our driver with 3 loaded trailers and got blown around really good in a thunderstorm across the plains there on I80.

On a separate note, why can't we get a tractor with enough structural integrity to not collapse onto the driver.
Seems like every pic or truck I see that's rolled, the roof structure has crumpled like a tin foil hat (not mine, I reinforced it with aluminum angle stock).
I know there saving weight, but how about the guy inside?
Safety is our, uh, um, number...., um, ehh, well, it IS a priority!!??
