Florida police arrested a man on Thursday after he allegedly stole a truck from the fuel pumps at a truck stop in Medley.

On March 9, the Medley Police Department responded to a Pilot Travel Center located at 12200 NW South River Drive for a reported vehicle theft.

The truck driver told police that he left the vehicle unlocked and running at the pump as he went inside the store. While the trucker was inside the truck stop, a 24 year old man later identified as Exon Gonzalez Caceres reportedly entered the truck and drove off.

The truck driver and others ran outside to confront Caceres, but they were unable to catch him.

Police say that Caceres collided with a car that was attempting to block him in and then fled on Northwest South River Drive as the truck driver followed on foot.

Cellphone video captured at the scene shows the truck driver and others breaking out the driver’s side window to gain access to the truck. Caceres is then dragged out of the cab and forced to the pavement, where he is punched multiple times and restrained with zip ties until police arrived on the scene.
