RIDGEFIELD, Wash. - All southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Ridgefield were shut down Thursday afternoon following a fiery, multiple-vehicle crash.

The crash, which involved a semi-truck and three other vehicles, happened around 4:30 p.m.

So far, it is unknown whether anyone was injured, although an ambulance was seen driving from the scene with its lights on.

Jet Ranger 2 flew over the scene as firefighters sprayed down the front of the semi-truck and other emergency crews arrived.

Traffic quickly backed up for miles and some drivers could be seen trying to turn around and go the other direction.

One lane of I-5 opened up around 6:30 p.m., but by then traffic was completely backed up on the southbound side and the northbound side was affected by drivers slowing to see what was going on.
