What happened to the time you had already worked before getting laid off? Was all the time that counts towards earning vacation time taken away? As an example, if someone had worked let’s say two full years and was eligible for two weeks vacation that he/she used and was then laid off for a year or so, when they were brought back from layoff, do they lose that earned time before the lay off to count towards the next progression (two weeks eligibility to three weeks eligibility)?
In other words, when coming back from lay off as a new employee, does the vacation progression schedule start over as if you had never worked at the company?
If so, that sucks big time!!!
Old Dominion needs a Union Contract!

Late reply, but I wouldn't move anywhere at this point. At least you have SOME tenure where you're at.
At any rate, where could you go in LtL and improve your situation? Every LtL is in the same position.
Hiring on now on the cusp of a accepted recession would be a crapshoot.

Can't live scared. This recession will dump at least one of the big players and then the rest will have to haul the freight. Will it be YRC ? Doubt it. They always find a way. But you never know. Maybe XPO LTL ? Or what ever happens to the old Con-way. Maybe they get bought up by Central Transport ? What ever. Recession brings consolidation. And drivers will always follow the freight.

If we go to war with Russia get ready to run in convoys with armed escorts!

I doubt it will be a ground war. They are doing that in Ukraine.

Talk to any young person. They are brain dead. Just doing what TIKTOC tells them. They don't care about themsleves or anyone. They won't fight for anything.

The RONA shot has worked way better than expected. The mRNA has been an overwhelming success. So much so that the pharmicuducal companies are now suing each other over your DNA. As YOUR DNA is now THEIR intellectual property. They own your health and well being.

The new BRICSS currency and COMEX equivelant will continue the economic war.

The crypto developments will then lead to the greatest of great recessions. It's the interent of value. The same way anyone with a connection can get any information. Everyone will have access to value. A mountian dew will cost the same in America as it does in Peru or Thailand. Value will be equalized.

The central bank system was a poor design. And it has outlived it's usefullness. They are redesigning world economics. That's what is going on with Russia. The BRICSS hold over half the worlds population. And resources. They are no longer content to have others tell them what they are worth. They wish to set that value themselves.

People forget that the rest of the world resents Americans. They are fat, lazy, ignorant and selfish. Why should people like that live such better lives than those who work so much harder everyday for scraps ? We have an entire culture of joblessness, drug abuse and homelessness. Just look at California. What the hell is that ?

The next few years will certainly be interesting. But really. Compared to the last 30. Likely not so bad. It's just the complete overhaul of civilization. 8 billion people is just to many.

I think we can all expect tforce to fall and no one will notice a difference in freight.

I've been with the company 10 months now. Some weeks I get 4 runs in, others I get 3 runs, rarely get a full week worth of work in. I run wild board linehaul in Southern California. Anyone that's been with the company for a while able to speak some words of wisdom to me.

Having an assigned run one day is so appealing to me. I like driving nights, drop and hook work, longer one trip and done. In time this would be my perfect job I could see my self retiring here.

Yet I worry about being laid off or financially ruining my self hoping things get better.
I'm in socal also, overhiring hurt us bad. Knee-jerk reaction after furloughs in 2020. Stick around, guys will filter out and you will be alright, sooner rather than later hopefully
