A man died this morning after his sport utility vehicle crashed head-on with a semi truck near East Bank.
Police identified the driver of the red Chevrolet Blazer as John Lawrence Seacrist, 32, of East Bank. He was killed when his vehicle was hit by a flatbed West Virginia Quikrete truck a little before 7 a.m. just southeast of East Bank near Crown Hill.
The driver of the flatbed was identified as Denver Floyd Jarrett, 52, of Hansford. Police said he is an employee of Quikrete.
Police said it appeared Seacrist might have veered slightly into a ditch and then overcorrected, entering the oncoming lane and slamming into the flat-bed truck.
The truck overturned, blocking both lanes of the highway and spilling bags of sand and concrete mixture onto the road.
