I left about the time PJAX made CNN Headline News re: that class action
sexual harrasment lawsuit in Pittsburg.
Management settled out of court for a seven figure number divided
equally among all the plantiffs involved.
Anybody remember that?
During that time a pair of brothers were running the HBG. terminal.
Those of you there long enough know the two in question.
The second in command, whom I shall call Mr. M, was famous
for stealing freight off the dock.
Toys, tools, plasma tv's, and even an entire skid of laptop computers
disappeared. Several dock guys saw hime take the stuff but kept their
mouths shut of fear of losing their jobs.
He would also sell fuel to O/O who came into HBG. at half price
and pocket the cash.
I personally saw him do this several times.
He was also in kahoots with two P&D drivers out of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
who were also selling goods off the back of the truck.
How do I know this?
Cause a good freind of mine was a yard jockey at Lord & Taylor in
Wilkes-Barre and he, and the receptionist, were both approached
by one of these P&D drivers to buy stuff off the truck.
He would write things up short and sell it for cash.
My buddy reported him to Pittsburgh but they turned a blind eye.
Makes you wonder why they let rampant theft continue unabated.
Eventually Mr. M came under investigation by local authorities in HBG.
who interviewed driver and dock personell re: the issue.
Pittsburgh finally told him resign or be prosequted.
And then there was one of the cousins in Pitt who was transporting
firearms across state lines in some of the linehaul trucks.
Anybody remember that one?
The FBI was in on that fiasco.
The Jax has a reputation all right.
One that doesn't shine to bright I'm afraid.
:smilie_132: to you too, bud....
