FedEx Freight | Who Gets The 150.00

I think hospitals are a great example of how expensive anything gets, for those who actually pay, when it free to those who don't.
Doctors and hospitals provide a service and for us to tell them what they are allowed to charge is the problem. Swamp you can provide links to the cows come home but it won’t change the reality of what’s going on in the healthcare industry. How do we tell a Doctor what he’s allowed to charge without some sort of pushback? Same with hospitals and pharmaceutical companies.

What he's saying is that as long as the government pays whatever price they're told, the price will never drop. That's what happened with college. Government guaranteed payment and the tuition skyrocketed.

I understand that ... I just don’t understand why something so simple can be so complicated.

A doctor becomes a doctor for at least one of the following reasons 1) notoriety. Just to say I'm a doctor. 2) money. Doctors are thought to make a boatload of money. 3) kindness. People become a doctor to help people.

Then they go to school and have 100k in debt. That becomes the priority. Now hospitals have to pay these doctors and they have to pay their own insurance for all the malpractice suits they have to settle.

It just gets more complicated as you go, but getting the government involved just makes it worse.

Not likely they will make money, do you realize the cost of healthcare these day? At least you have the option to add a spouse. At SAIA you can’t even add one if she has access to healthcare through her employer. The only way you can add her is if she’s a stay at home mom and they have ways of finding out if that’s the case. IMO, they’d be lucky to break even. One heart surgery could be 200K plus. Just a few days in the hospital could be 50K. Not a good business to be in these days until the government reigns in healthcare cost.
I'm certain they're doing it for the well being of their employees, and not to make money... insert eye roll here.
In 2018 Anthem increased their profits year over year by 234%.
The insurance industry is a trillion dollar industry, is terribly profitable and an $1800/year increase in premiums will be multiplied 10× over once used for it's actual purpose which is to invest in the market which is how insurance companies and self insured companies make huge profits.

The company has placed this penalty on the employees with families many of which are senior employees. Make no mistake this was done by design, and does nothing to cover the real reason for increased healthcare costs. How many part time employees are enrolled in our insurance? How many have a full time job that they are supplementing which offers them insurance at a significantly higher employee cost? What penalty are these employees paying?

I'll answer the last question for you...they are not. Those of us with a working spouse are.

Nice post!!

We’ve been had on this increase. They played us like a toy guitar. 5 years ago they combined the spouse and family plan together and those of us with a spouse and kids didn’t think nothing about it. Those who didn’t have kids complained about having to pay more but I was going through a divorce at the time and didn’t even realize it had happened. Now this year coming up they are forcing you to drop your wife if she has coverage available at her job no matter the cost or pay the $150. They don’t care what you do because if you have the family plan for your kids and spouse they will still get the same amount if you do drop your spouse or an extra $150 if you decide keep them on the insurance.
The meeting we had with our hr about the new insurance was obviously rehearsed and they were trained to talk about this as if it was a non-event. She didn’t have any answers to my questions and even tried to lie and tell us that ups had done the same thing but I called her on it. She then admitted that the non union ups employees had to except this option.
I had another conversation with hr this past week about the new deal and told them I don’t believe I can continue to work here knowing every week there will be a $36 reminder of this BS taken from my paycheck.

Yep same here ours used XPO and said they did it a few years back, but what she failed to tell us is theirs is $120 a month and they already make more money than us. Lol

This is incorrect......if you drop your spouse, you would move to the employee+children plan, which has a significantly lower weekly premium.
For instance, my wifes insurance through her job is expensive for just her compared to ours, but the savings on premium against the family plan offset her cost to the point it made more sense to do that than pay the spousal fee.

She must not know about truckingboards and that we keep tabs on this. Were peers here trying to help each other. The competition is between the folks in the office with non-compete clauses. We're not the players that can be traded at any given time.

And we talk to each other when were at a costumer waiting for a door or freight. Am I supposed to be an ******* to somebody because they're wearing brown? This isn't West side story or south Central LA.

How's it going? What's it like over there? How does the bottom guy get treated? What's the benefits package? How's the equipment? If you don't mind me asking, how much do you make? Questions anybody will answer standing by a door and it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to decide if I might be interested in that company.

I want to know what business is it of Fedex what my spouse is offered at their job and if they even have a job. What about our privacy. Especially when it comes to our spouses medical insurance or information. It’s all part of social engineering, getting you ready for a one world government. This is a socialist idea to take from one and give to another. Right now they are doing the same thing ಠ▄ಠ did, just picking up a few Jews on the other side of the block who are causing trouble, you guys don’t need to worry about it. Not until you see them coming down your street. So I think I figured out why they did away with the employee spouse option on the insurance five years ago, to set us up for this take back now does anyone have any ideas what they’re going to take next.

What about the employee who just has a spouse from what I’m looking at on the 70 broad the employee is already paying an extra $104 to cover their spouse. $13 employee only to $ $117 employee & family. Plus additional & $150 fine makes it $254 per month just to cover their spouse.
