FedEx Freight | Who Gets The 150.00

I want to know what business is it of Fedex what my spouse is offered at their job and if they even have a job. What about our privacy. Especially when it comes to our spouses medical insurance or information. It’s all part of social engineering, getting you ready for a one world government. This is a socialist idea to take from one and give to another. Right now they are doing the same thing ಠ▄ಠ did, just picking up a few Jews on the other side of the block who are causing trouble, you guys don’t need to worry about it. Not until you see them coming down your street. So I think I figured out why they did away with the employee spouse option on the insurance five years ago, to set us up for this take back now does anyone have any ideas what they’re going to take next.

Next year they will take more money due to the drop in revenue from spouses leaving our plan. What excuse they will use is anyone's guess. Plenty of us tried to change this but enough of the drivers wouldn't listen or bought the company line.

How about if you were fired from a job, and you could not afford cobra insurance. You had to go without insurance untill you land another job.

What would you do if your loved one's had a pre existing condition?

Private insurance wouldn't have covered it and most employer insurance would have required a waiting period.

A couple things to add clarity.

Insurance company profit MARGINS are heavily regulated. They are LIMITED by law. Health insurance had the narrowest range of 4% to 5.25%.

How is that greedy?

Insurance that covers preexisting conditions, is not INSURANCE at all. It's a payment plan the forces others to share the burden, driving prices higher. How about we apply the same logic to Fire insurance, Flood insurance etc.?

IMHO, preexisting should only be covered at standard rates IF you never let your insurance laps. That could be moderated by pooling funds, much like auto insurance can cover the uninsureable via assigned risk pool, with higher premiums.

Yes, some regulation we like, and are needed. Others are not. Those cheaper countries you speak of have much less regulation. You can't have the best & safest without cost, especially when heavily

Cobra is like it's name , a bad snake that is not a affordable in any way at all , maybe to the wealthy !

Pre Existing Condition , who doesn't have one as far as health insurance goes anymore ?

Waiting period ? Well of course no insurance want's to pay anyone anything , they don't make profits doing that.

Excellent post by Hilliard , thank you...

No more pre existing stipulation with large group insurance (employers). Not sure about individual or the exchanges.

Fair concerns, BUT it seems to me there should be limits.

A reasonable grace period between jobs, where coverage or eligibility would continue for perhaps 60-90 days. NOT 26 or 52 weeks.

Seems there has to be some self responsibility. I've kept jobs I hated, due to the need for insurance to continue. I've also paid COBRA for a short time, also because it was necessary. Expensive, yes. But cheaper/better than not continuing coverage. THAT provided encouragement to urgently find a job WITH insurance.

For the perpetually uninsured, there has got to be consequences for irresponsibility. Not "oh, I broke my back, now I'll sign up for insurance to cover it forever". By definition, that would not be insurance.

I wonder if they will ever release how many employees are actually paying the spousal fine. And are they deducting the fee every pay period or monthly. I know its a old topic but hadn't herd any grumbling at my center.

I seriously doubt they would reveal how many are paying the penalty. We may get some clues next enrollment but probably not.

They’ll never disclose how many are paying unless a union threat popped up again. Then they would quickly proclaim as though they were doing us a great favor, “Due to the administrative costs of deducting the spousal premium from the very small number of drivers that affected by it, FedEx will no longer be requiring married drivers to pay it.”

Even the most die hard of company men know that this phony financial burden FedEx conjured up would disappear faster than the scorecard if they had to worry about another round of union votes.

That ship has sailed. There won't be another union threat at Freight.
