Heading into an election year. Recession looming. Inflation is ridiculous. More and more manufacturing leaving the country. XPO wants to cut cut cut. Going to be a tough year for some drivers.

Xsl is about to go union its 70 are so drivers that's pushing for it...I hear they met with Teamsters this weekend....
What we need is a nationwide campaign push from the Teamsters and all barns that want in, this one terminal at a time is not going to get it

You're never get a nationwide campaign going for the Teamsters, if the employees really wanted that it would have already done that. It seems to me it not gaining any traction.

Every time some bad news comes around. People talk about going and signing cards. After talking to the business agent and realizing how useless the union is first hand. They all slowly defect to other carriers. It's happened over and over at this terminal. The union leadership is pathetic. You can wait around for years and years for nothing. Or fill out an application and get what you want right now. And you ain't even got to go anywhere to do it any more. Everything is online. Simple and easy. Enter all your stuff sitting on the couch. Get a call for your road test. Get your start date. And when you report to work for your last day. That's when you hand your keys to management and tell them you have a new job. Good bye. A bunch of guys have even done exit interviews. You know what has changed ? Nothing. No one cares.

and will some explain how having a union will stop the company from laying off. Go over to UPSF, ABF, Saia, OD and YRC threads. Hell YRC has 3 topics on it alone. Anyone that doesn't believe that freight volumes are down is just fooling themselves.

Can't fix stupid. Just like they all cry about sub vans. But the union carriers use sub vans too. LOL it's all the same. They just feel better about it. If they say this or that is the problem and this or that is the solution.
