Thousands of employees are filing personal bankruptcy because, "LET'S HELP SAVE THE COMPANY", attitude promoted by the union, is working to keep dues coming in.
 
I think you have seriously oversimplified the matter.

I'm not going to defend some of the actions by $$$Bill, however, unless you are disabled in some manner, you should have been able to secure some type of ongoing employment paying less. If you went bankrupt at that point, it was probably because you were overextended or your spouse caused you to become overextended.

I'm sorry for the trauma you and your family are going through. My family has experienced many financial concerns over the years also.
 
why does it always got to come back as its the guys own fault that yrc has screwed so many lifes up .
lets put the blame where it belongs
Guys in this mess were so naive about these high stake busness practices . we just work for a living and usually believe what we are told by our boss's .
I thaught for sure that id retire from r/w living near stroudsburg pa .
Then i was told . heres you chance to keep you job by moving to the term . with the best location on the east coast hmmmmm [ another lie ] now i drive 160 round trip to work .
This can all be put on A COUPLE LARGE HEADS $ BILL AND JR.
I believe they had this all planned out step by step and have both lied over and over again .
so i guess it was all our own faults for believing those that are suppose to be servering us.
 
You serve them not the other way around, in business today believe 10% of what you hear the rest is BS by professional spin doctors and most of all CYA.

Here is where you and I should just agree to disagree my friend. While YRC is responsible for a large portion of the mess we are in they are not responsible for all of it. (Just hear me out before you get me...). Personal responsibility. When we got our pay cut most people were so overextended that it was catastrophic. Instead of saving for a rainy day everyone had to have a new car/boat misc other toys. Now that the bottom has fallen out they are struggling. I was taught as a young adult to never count overtime in my budget, because it is not guaranteed money and if it were to stop I would be in trouble. So that’s what we did and we are luckier than most. I would love to be able to have all the extras I was used to before pay cuts and layoffs, but it just isn't feasible, and we did some serious belt tightening and are making it without the bells and whistles. Sorry I am rambling…..:soapbox:
 
well i dont have a boat or camper or even a cycle . but i know it way more of struggle to keep afloat now.
raised kids and had np with morgage 20 years ago .
now kids are grown and wife and i are working full time just to stay current.
every1 think weeeee should of seen this coming . hind sight has always been 20/20.
the government didnt see it . we all know $bill and all his experts didnt see it .
guess its all the drivers and dock guys fault . damn us all .
ps havent signed up for 1 hour ot this year and never have in all the years b4 .cant base a budgit on o/t
 
I want to thank Full Deck for this pos-t! I thought maybe I was crazy thinking yrc was, is a POS! Ahhhhh, I feel so much better writing that! Full Deck, I'd like to hear your opinion on the, ugh, union. Again thanks!

I'll partally agree with this statement..Penny Bill's ultimate goal in purchasing Roadway and USF was the destruction of the union. Jr Hoffa is nothing more than a gutless self-serving moron. Which serves Penny Bill's desires perfectly

I was told that YRC paid double for USF than they paid for roadway...thats what got us in trouble was the USF purchase. As far as JR is concerned he was a corporate lawyer for big business before he was the Teamster Pres. kinda odd someone who fought for the company side all the time now switches to standing up for the workingman??? I think not.:duh:
