Yellow | Yrc Reorganizes U.s. Structure

“The move is aimed at streamlining the parent’s operational reporting structure, and there will be no change to the existing operating companies and brands, YRC CEO Darren D. Hawkins said in the memo. There had been rumors that such a move would be part of a larger strategy to consolidate all four operating companies into one brand doing business as YRC Freight.”

Sure seems like moves towards consolidation have already been taking place.

“Our strategy has been and continues to be to offer our customers quality service and multiple capabilities through our well established, separate brands,” said Bill Zollars, YRC’s chairman, president and chief executive officer. “At no time have we stated an intention to combine the operations of Yellow Transportation and Roadway."

Network optimization is basically driving full utilization of our property and freight density footprint across our asset based companies. Make no mistake, there is power in having four asset brands in the marketplace, as each brings unique value to our customers with three best-in-class regional LTL companies and then the size, scope and endless capabilities of YRC Freight to go anywhere in North America.

Sure Mr. Hawkins! We believe you almost as much as we believed Dollar Bill!

Rumors of some future expansion of Holland footprint but it's not currently on maps of the 4 regions.

I read the article --- what kind of changes are we looking at? VIA everyday? road drivers doing more pick up and delivery ?

Sounds like they are going to structure it to have 4 regional divisions. Shouldn't affect long haul they could run it like a regional carrier going from South Georgia to St Paul.

Meet and turns or terminal to terminal instead of being held up at a break bulk for 8 to 24 hours they would either meet or switch out at terminal.

Now you have a dumb truck drivers perspective and we will probably see something totally different.

Organized. Nothing there is organized.
They have been shuffling the deck so long its short on cards.
Just make it look good on paper and move on. And on.
Hey.
Let's put the toilet paper rolls in the other way.
Maybe that'll help.
