Yellow | YRC Worldwide-Could Further Consolidation Lead To A Buyout By UPS?

Buyout sounds GREAT :6799:,let's go for it , come on Jamie make it happen !!!!:6788::cheerful:
It's not so far-fetched wongway! Think about it...UPS buys YRCW, and merges UPS Freight, YRC Freight, Holland, Reddaway, and Reimer into one LTL company. They pay the withdrawal liability to Central States and put the YRC Freight and Holland participants into the UPS-Teamsters pension plan after they cut a deal with the IBT, and the active members are sure to vote yes on getting out of Central States. This fulfills Welch and Pierson's dream of getting out of the Central States liability. UPS will end up with the largest LTL company in the world and will kick FedEx Freight's and the rest of their competitors butts. This will just about finish off the old NMFA contract companies. You know that ABF Freight is watching closely and their members will more than likely vote to get out of CSPF and into an ABF Freight-Teamsters pension plan similar to the one at UPS Freight. Very interesting developments indeed. Let the speculation continue!

Get Tyson on the phone right away! Let's cut a deal with the UPS and YRCW execs as soon as possible. Right after the IBT election though!

It's not the pension liability they want out from under.. Hell, they've already achieved that. Well, 3/4 of the way, anyways.. It's the healthcare they want out from under. It's their biggest expenditure left..

Rumors. Someone always starts a rumor ups is gonna buy someone.
They have enough problems of their own.
They don't want yrc and the decrepit 60 year old people and equipment they have.
YRC would be a money out for them. All they have to do is wait em out. See who goes out of business first. Cheaper that way.

Agree 100% with you , it would be a win win for everybody , and UPS has the money and power to get it done and union won't care as long as the monthly DUE money keeps coming in , Nothing would surprise me anymore with yrcw up coming changes, and yes something does seem to be in the air lately with all the big dogs on conference calls ??? so VOTE YES for buyout-merger !!!:6799:

After the buyout, UPS would probably start merging YRCW companies. New Penn, and Holland for a start. Imo.

They [UPS] would just get more PTS to haul the freight, they can't handle what they have now with all these rinky dink terminals they have.
They would need all YRCW trailers for storage to hide the freight till Finkle got there to pick it up

You are correct there, JB, about the PTS thing at UPSF. Look at some of their threads about linehaul. See people saying all the time they have drivers sitting home, and PTS going out the gate. If you think YRC has a contract full of holes, look at theirs. Be careful what you wish for.

YRC freight would close .And regional freight would stay open ,they make money. This would be a good deal for the few and not the many.Shareholders would benefit the most.
