Zollars’ employment contract is due to expire Dec. 31, though it provides for automatic one-year extensions if neither Zollars nor the company provides a termination notice. According to his contract, if Zollars were terminated without cause, he would be eligible for $7.4 million in severance and other benefits.

they who may haul freight for free the longest wins
I kind of hate to be the voice of doom, but it looks like a total loss--no not really
YRC lost tremendous amounts of money but I think that that's something that makes them better at their job, not worse.
A YRC warrior considers himself already dead, so there is nothing to lose. The worst has already happened to him, therefore he's clear and calm; judging him by his acts or by his words, one would never suspect that he has witnessed everything.

Sounds like $bill and jr are scared of a no vote this time. It's time to stop the give backs, because it will never be enough for them.

he is not going to retire until a yes vote, because we may have to vote till we get it right. goodbye bill we will miss you

While there is always a lot of blame to go around, the bulk of it lies with him. I hope it's not too little-too late.

That too is what concerns me....WHEN will the recovery plan be over?.....yeah, thats what I thought......screw him!.....KK
The way that the article is written, it doesn't say when his "recovery plan" will be complete. So the deadline for his employment here could be whenever they want. Just more of their creative language that we hear all of the time.

As far as his contract having the automatic one year extension unless one side or the other terminates it, and the money that would be due him if he were terminated without just cause. THAT IS A JOKE! Does anyone think that the Board couldn't justify getting rid of him? It's all a dog and pony show folks.

Zollars quote.(from the article)

"I am particularly proud of all we, as an organization, have accomplished over the past two years."

Oh ya, I'd be damned proud also. After putting tens of thousands out of work, transferring thousands of people around the country in an effort to feed their families, and running a half a dozen companies into the ground, yep I'd be damned proud also.

Billy, you should be so proud that you do like the Orientals do after their failures like this.....take a walk behind the barn with your .357!

UHH, $ Bill, going ,going, gone..... a " True Kodak Moment " 24 years with Kodak, and he finally gets the PICTURE. BYE BYE Billy, empty your pockets on your desk, your escort is waiting and MAY the door hit you HIT YOU IN THE _ _ _ on the way out. YOU now will have time to reflect on how many career's ( Union and Non ) that you have ruined with your greed. People like you should spend the rest of your lives VOLUNTEERING for Meals on wheels, Churches, Nursing Homes etc. to put you in touch with reality, and see what everyday living is like for people, and reflect on your greed. I do not wish ill will on you just go away and hopefully there is enough time and resources left that this mess can be repaired and people can get back to a normal life.

Here we go again with that statement again (taken from the kansas city paper).

and if the effort supports a comprehensive restructuring that will give the company the best opportunity to not only survive, but thrive, over the long term.”

I'm really tired of getting this shoved up my rear.
Tyson - you need a new jar of lube, this one is getting very dry & hurts real bad now.

Let us see what wizard is out there that can make money in freight where cut-throat competition and overcapacity is keeping prices down in a depressed economy with no end in site. Not to mention the debt and liquidity issues and the reinstatement of the pension

Obama lied
the economy died

zollars resigns

Sure he resigns. There are no more cookies in the cookie jar after he leaves with a golden parachute. Will he stick around with a NO VOTE?
