Holland | Rumor about pay after 30 days!

I pretty much ignore the juvenile nonsense and boot it out of the ABF forum.
get a life.....don't you bust your buddies balls? I live for that ::shit:: because if I don't get them first I guarantee they will get me! What do you do at work? Talk about the fifteen percent all night?

85% work standards now days is even better than the new guys bringing back 50% of Del's daily !!

If the union had any balls at all they would tell the company give everything back to everyone or we will not allow anything!.....yes I know they have no balls and it will never happen, but they actually have a little bargaining power right now and they will give it away by just accepting the raise to the new guys and not negotiate anything for the senior men. Some day junior will be gone and this will end....I hope I am still around to see it!

Heard starting next Monday 8/14. All drivers/combo men who are not at full scale will be bumped up to it. Any new employee after his or her probation will go to full scale. Rumor but a very reliable source.
I continue to hear the same story, but it doesn't seem to pan out. Between the low starting pay and the condition of the equipment I am asked to drive, I believe I will have to find another company to work for. One can be an optimist for just so long.

Does OD still pay a dollar fifty to fuel and eight bucks an hour for wait time and break down? How much is their insurance a week? How much do they get to break sets? Mileage isn't everything!

Ok , I have did the Math and we are paying from $150 to $ 200 bucks a week of -15% to pay for our so called free insurance , and other companies at $26 to $28 bucks hour are only paying $60 to 125 week for insurance , Bottom line is look at all the freight trapped daily and missed pick ups and dels. , So compare apples to oranges if you want ,BUT point is OD can hire Drivers and we can't !!!

with wage and pension cuts, our free health insurance can cost us over 500.00/week, but at least it's free.

But the massive check at the end of the week easily covers those little losses for them. The -15% is a killer and can't be covered up no matter how hard you try.

The only catch is when I talk to OD drivers and we discuss take home pay their take home pay for the week is almost exactly the same as mine? I can only guess that they are working less hours or less harder than me I am not sure but when I am talking about my direct deposits in the 1150 to 1400 range they are saying that is the same for them? Maybe I am just not talking to the guys that make the really massive checks? I don't know? Or maybe some guys think your gross pay is of some significance, I am not one of those, I don't care how you pay me there is only one number that is important to me and that is the dollar amount that is direct deposited into my checkbook on Friday. How you come up with that number is of no significance!

I thought OD was paid at a higher rate, but no O/T?

There is no point in arguing about two different people or scenarios, we would have to be comparing apples to apples and not hypotheticals or hearsay.
The fact of the matter is, and I've proved it to you guys multiple times, their pay is much higher than yours because of your pay concession, and the difference in pay easily covers their insurance and the lack of paid overtime.
And I won't mention the :shit:ty atmosphere at Holland. Most Holland employees are so used to the crap attitudes and crap atmosphere that they think that is normal, Well it isn't normal, it's pathetic.

I talk to a couple of your guys on the CB quite often, and each time when we go our separate ways, I just shake my head and feel sorry for them.
