XPO | Hurricane Harvey???

You are absolutely right, these money grubbing, greedy, noncaring, pieces of crap that we work for. What was I thinking.
I was being serious . I don't think xpo is not paying during a crisis like that no company is that cold. We haven't seen the memo at our terminal but I would think the pto offer was to help with recovery not loss pay.

The emails indicate that the pto time will be converted to a cash benefit for affected employees.

Latest email says employees have already donated $41400 and company has matched it to equal up to $82800

My daughter pilots a c130 for the Air national guard and she has been flying over the area . She's says it just unbelievable the amount of destruction.

I am just utterly shocked by the post on this thread. These thoughtless P.O.S. have openly shown their true bigotry by bash the company efforts to help there own. These P.O.S. which I will not name, but you can go back and see for yourself, are the same ones that tell us we need to band together to make this place better. Their own post prove that in someway shows how heartless they are towards the fellow employees of XPO. I don't agree with the way something's are done here at XPO, but this is one of the best thing this company has done. XPO is taking the time and effort to help their employees through a life crushing event. What you P.O.S. fail to realize is for some employee's a cash donation might be hard to do were PTO isn't and vice versa. Some of you need to pull your head out of you ass and start reading some address labels see were the freight is coming from or going to. These employees in that area at one time or other help put food on your table by picking up freight that you delivered and vice versa. If you don't want to use PTO then man up and dig into your pocket and give 8hrs pay to this because god forbid you my need there help one day.

I sure hope no one in that area can read these post and see how selfish some of the people working here are. Some have lost everything and you are worried about 8hrs of PTO.

Stand4afuture and me almost never see eye to eye, but I applaud you and your post for have the ball to say what you did. I have joined you and I have also donated 8hrs (the max) PTO.

Hang in there, get dried out and get up and running because we will have a ::shit:: load of freight to send your way.

Neither is giving it to the Red Cross. Every charity has overhead.

According to the email I saw, 100% of the money will go to XPO employees, and it's tax deductible. Sounds to me like a real, tangible way to help out a co-worker, unlike some other ideas I've seen.
I googled it and the Red Cross runs between a 10% to 15% overhead

I spoke to my Daughter about an hour ago and she says drinking water is becoming a real crisis in many places down there with water treatment plants being off line. She say the remainder of her unit is flying bottled water loads in for Red Cross to distribute. Apparently disturbution is a real problem at this point.

The irony is pitiful water every where but little to drink

There isn't a way in hell im giving my PTO time, a day away from this place. Just donate to a worthy cause and not through this bullshit program where the company can probably write it off.

I can't wait to find a new job.

This program is about as stupid as the program someone wanted that allowed you to use 60 hrs of pto for a week instead of the typical 40. Dumb!

If they cared about their employees and their PTO time they wouldn't steal your EARNED PTO time when you leave.

Several company's have dontated thousands of self filtration watering kits. You can stick the straw right in flood water and it becomes filtered and safe to drink. The Canadian army has a specific unit that specializes in water purification. They have been put on stand by to assist.

Of course the human factor is priority one but my daughter tells me the amount of displaced pets and livestock is daunting. She say there was a high spot in the midst of one flooded area that had hundreds of animals stranded on it . I can only imagine the pet shelters are overwhelmed.

I'm sure. The humane society and aspca and countless shelters and rescues are there in droves.

If you think this PTO is bad then you better never leave. Lot of companies have use or lose with no carry over. Then you have to work 1 yr to get a 1 week

Some people don't have money to give and have a bank of PTO. It's an option for people that lack the means or resources to help those that need it. No one is making you do anything with your PTO. Send a $20 is you want. JJ Watt is likely going to break $20 million tonight. There are plenty of options for those interested. If you are not interested then you have made your choice and it doesn't effect you.

A helicopter was flying over and saw a small rise above the water and there must have been a few hundred mixed animals huddled together on not much ground at all.

Watching the news, Irma looking like a direct hit for Florida maybe lower East coast. Two more Hurricanes active behind this one. This could be a game changer for the whole Country. A lot to deal with a one time both in Human cost and Financial cost. God bless America !!
