DriveCam infractions will be addressed on a case by case basis with the driving record coming very much in play. The company heard us and is at least moving in a positive direction. This will have a definite impact on driver retention. As SAIA once said and is more important today than ever before. “Together everyone accomplishes more.” This will go a long way in increasing driver morale and the credibility to the DriveCam program. I’m now proud to wear the SAIA uniform again.

So y'all were told this in grl, are they actually going to make an announcement about it? There has been so many grey areas involving these cameras ever since they have gotten them. Never know what to believe around here just by word of mouth alone.

This makes me wonder if they will have this policy implemented in just the large terminals (GRL) but keep the 3 year Probation in other, perhaps smaller, terminals. Maybe take it in a terminal by terminal basis. They’ve been inconsistent before...

Yes it was announced in Garland but let me say the cameras still mean business. They will concentrate more on repetitive behavior. Another words if you have 3 or 4 rolling stops in a 1 month period you will probably be gone and rightfully so. I mean if you can’t learn from your mistakes then you are probably going to be considered a liability. This company doesn’t want to fire anyone but they must protect themselves from reckless behavior. Drive safe and carry on.

Assume you mean there is only one pay scale, that being top pay? Is there something you can post showing this?

Can only speak about Garland.

This is in regards to the DriveCam disciplinary policies on rolling stops and red light violations. Initially the first violation was a one day suspension and you were put on three years probation. If you did the same violation within three years you were terminated.

Proof that a company will listen if enough people shout.
The main reason SAIA has remained union free for almost 100 years is because when enough workers voice concerns they do listen. The union free culture started in 1924 and remains because the company does listen to it’s employees even if at times we do have to shout. Most the time we don’t even have to raise our voices. They just simply do the right thing before things reach the tipping point.

It's amazing how different it is from terminal to terminal..we very rarely have anybody even being coached let alone fired
As I had stated in the other thread the discipline is different region to region ,terminal to terminal. Hell from what I understand there are terminals that will hire someone back after they quit and give them their seniority back like they never left. If that’s true that’s a steamy pile of :::shit:::

Are we just going to speculate now? I try and bring just facts to the table. Now your just trying to stir the pot :stirthepot: —— I always try and see the good in things until the FACTS lead me in another direction.

How am i stiring the pot Train ? What have i posted that did not end up being fact ? I have made alot of friends in my almost 2 decades with this company. So what i am posting may not be speculation but indeed fact.

I heard the same thing. I believe that it’s well known around my barn.

The driver in question has been asked about it and he didn’t deny it.In his defense,he only did what they allowed him to do. I don’t know anyone that wouldn’t have done the same thing if given the chance.

Uh oh Train, my speculation has been corroborated. Maybe its true ?
I don’t believe it. The driver is lying to just **** with y’all. Everyone at our terminal in P&D that came back started at bottom and got the appropriate jacked up start times. And there is no way you could know about his vacation. Don’t you think we would notice and say something if we noticed they were coming in early. No, that ::shit:: doesn’t happen here and I don’t believe it happens at other terminals either. I know of one guy that moved into the line (system) because he got sick of coming in so late. If you quit you lose all of your seniority. Not buying it or should I say his bull ::shit:: story. No offense but you guys sound like a bunch of punks afraid to speak up. Call HR and tell them. I damn sure would if I thought that ::shit:: was going on and so would my co-workers.
