Lets look at the facts so we can make a rational decision. Please feel free to add to the list.Dumb ass Dollar Bill borrowed huge sums of cash that could not be paid back.Hundreds of union carriers have gone out of business in the last 30 years. In the passed ten years many non union carriers have started hauling freight nationwide,Estes ,Sia,RL,Fedex,Con-Way.They have been providing better service ,and at a better price.YRCW is broke, and has not shown a profit in years. This country is basket case with no sign of things getting better in the near future.Central States Pension could not handle 20,000 ex YRCW employee's retiring at one time. Now that YRCW has announced to the world they will shut down with a no vote customers will be running for the hills .The equipment we use is getting old ,and broken down .

Fact, everyday I work I see money being wasted
Fact, nothing has changed with Yrc since the last 2 Yes votes
Fact, customers still don't know who YRC is, they only know Roadway or Yellow
Fact, Enough is enough, it will be a NO vote for me!

I don't know why they didn't spend the money to paint all their equipment with YRC. Leaving the lingering Roadway or Yellow truck confuses customers. Even just the swamp holly orange color confuses people.

You must just have stupid customers where you live. Where I live I wear a YRC hat and the customers all know exactly who we are and why. Not really that hard to figure out.....Im sure FedEx Nat'l and Freight customers will be so confused when they merge two outfits together. We'll be so busy will all those confused customers we'll be hiring everywhere.

Let`s look at the facts. I can only speak of Roadway prior to the merger because that`s how I started here. Yellow I know little about because I didn`t work there. Roadway was a profitable company owning most of their property and equipment and turning a profit when Yellow purchased or merged with them to form YRCW. When the merger took place,Zollars fired 90% of the knowledgable people.the people that knew how to run a freight company and replaced them with supervisors that didn`t know the difference between a steering wheel and a 5th wheel and worst of all, they didn`t care. I can`t lump all the supervisors in that category, but most have that attitude. Why does YRCW keep so many supervisors that are incompetent and have an "I don`t give a damn attitude"? The only conclusion I can reach is,they want to file bankruptcy and come back debt free as a non union company with no work rules,no pension to pay and do anything they want.I actually think YRCW wants to see a no vote on this concession package so they can realize their long range plan. The only thing in their way is the union bowing to their every demand for concessions. I don`t think YRCW expected or wanted the union to be so cooperative with YRCW. If this concession package gets a yes vote, look for more concessions in 3-6 months. That old saying "When you find yourself in a hole quit digging" does not apply to YRCW.They keep the same people running the show that dug the first shovel full of dirt and they keep digging faster and deeper.

Fact, highly skilled employees get better compensation at non-union companies. The last contract included utility employees and the last 2 concessions gave up 15% wage reduction and loss of pension contributions with the express purpose of making yrc more competitive. Management still managed to not make money. Historically the largest ltl carrier always went out of business, and no trucking company ever shrunk to profitability. Only the facts.

Yes you are right management has made many mistakes .Your conclusions may or may not be fact ,and for the most part are driven by anger ,and mistrust.Unless someone comes forward at the company ,and says we destroyed our company and lost billions of dollars just to take down the Teamsters contract. This is not fact we need facts not emotion to make a decision.

From what I know zollars and smid are leaving all crap gone only we can rebuild. We will have 2 people on BOD and total oversight of operations! Who else but TEAMSTERS! know how to run a trucking co? Banks must agree they are the other BOD members that agreed to all of this. Why not at least give it a try? We went this far.

I think you are right on the money Sarge, they want the Teamsters to be the fall guys and blame everything on us!

You are right no union freight company has ever pulled it back from the brick of bankruptcy.Fact Us Airways is the only airline to give contract concessions three times and make it .

Just a clarification......Yellow took on Roadways $140 million dollars of debt.

Just a clarification......Yellow took on Roadways $140 million dollars of debt.

In the deal expected to close by year's end, Yellow said it would pay $48 a share or $966 million - half in Yellow shares and half in cash - for Roadway, and assume $140 million in debt.

all i want to know is why every former roadway person thinks they were debt free when yellow bought them. why would roadway allow themselves to be bought if they were debt free. and why did yellow not shut them and down immediately and the regionals when they were bought and run 1 company not 5 or 6. all the corporates general offices shud be shut down and combined in overland park, that would save millions of dollars alone. and why are terminals all being run differently according to what former co scm is running it. normal merges mean the co doing the buying merges bought co into their system . some people lose their jobs and it is now all the same co. yrcw needs to be yrcw not holland , new penn, glen moore, reddaway, . it is so confusing to the outside. see any corporate merger -and that is the way it works. ask yourself why are they still running all separate. akron needs to be shut down period. save millions of dollars that cud go towards teamster benefits

You been here long enough to know we allowed ourselves to be bought cause Zollors give close to twice what the stock was worth.
We sure did'nt need the 1.2 billion to get rid of the Newpenn note. It was being paid down just Zollars get a wild hair before we got there. Rdwy was stupid enough to buy a Regional and incurred debt for it. Yellow turned around and did the same stupid thing after they bought us. We were paying the note with profits, and Zollars plan was????? With savings....and more debt...how damn stupid. And now don't stop with Akron, get ride of Corparate in Holland and if Newpenn, Glenmore, Reddaway have offices somewhere. Them too. I don't care what color trucks I drive or the Name on the door. Just who ever is gonna be in charge get their ::shit:: together.

When Roadway bought New Penn, they had a business plan in mind. They, no matter how hard they tried, could not make a regional system fit the Roadway mold. What better business plan than to buy the best in the business? Along with New Penn, Roadway got Arnold Transportation Services. Don't quote me on exact numbers, but I think it was close to $800M for the 3 companies. Then ATS was sold back, giving New Penn to Roadway for about $355M. Half that was already paid down when Yellow came into the picture, which is why with Yellow assumed the remaining $140M.

A yellow employee could say the same thing about Roadway management. Are you ever going to get past the "it's the other Company's fault mentality?" Grow the hell up!
