ODFL | Any truth to the rumor that OD is closing

I heard that rumor in 1963,my daddy started in 58 and said he heard the same rumor,grandpa talked about it in 1957 when he worked for O.D. but far as I know there's nothing to it then again you just don't know anymore.
 
please understand this rumor was put here because i invaded the hollad board and asked a question about what yrc was going to do with Holland or Bestway/Reddaway and they were offended.i did not try to make them mad but one or two of them just are angry with the world.i offered for them to come to our board and chat.
 
He's p*ssed off because he chose to drive for a badly managed company (Jevic, Dawn, etc.). Wants to start a nasty rumor. There's absolutely no reason for OD to close since we're the only one showing positive profits, even with high fuel prices.

I guess you see the way this thread is going......is there a particular reason you wanted a firefight on this forum ?
 
i am happy to say the OD guys on this forum have not bashed mr holland but answered his question.this of course is not the reception i recieved on their forum.thank you guys.
 
dm torl is the man..JIM BOB's and the other moderators headaches notwithstanding you cant argue his presence doesnt result in alot of posts!
 
I can see that would be a touchy subject if you worked for one of the good companies that were bought out by Yellow. It is really a relief that we now know the reason of the rumor was a reaction to Dmtorls post on another board. I am sure that dmtorl did not have any antagonist thought towards our fellow drivers that are in the position of working for a company that is being bought out by YRC.
 
I saw his inital post on Hollands board dmtorl was behaving himself they totally overreacted,Besides OD closing is so unbelivable only a spastic would even possable @ this time.
 
I still remember looking forward to being outta school so i wouldn't have to deal with this kinda crap but i guess some guys didn't grow up. Come on lets be honest someone will be closing soon it won't be us!
 
Let's see, profits are still strong, we are growing in aspects of offering in our services to the customers, we are growing business, we are building or moving into bigger and better terminals, hmmm let me think here a minute.........no I think I will be running down the highway Tuesday. Sorry Holland boy, I guess we will not be closing.........but let me share something Elvis has left the building........permanently.
